Le Cellier Or Teppan Edo

I was hoping someone could tell me which one would be a better dining experience. It's myself, my husband and three boys (12, 8 and 2). Thanks!

I have three boys (ages 12, 10 and 7) and Le Cellier is a must for my beef eaters! We have never been to Teppan Edo but we are considering it for our trip in August. I think the boys will enjoy the entertainment factor at Teppan Edo but when I read them the menu, they were not impressed with the desserts!

I LOVE Teppan Edo! We are unable to eat at Le Cellier due to food restrictions but I can say this: If you have a Benihana/Kobe type place close to home, then I'd try to go with Le Cellier since it would be a different experience for you all

Yes, we do have a Kobe here and the boys love it. I want to try Le Cellier but I also don't want them bored.

Teppan Edo. My kids loved the show, but it is less expensive without it and there is the same exact food. It's all delicious, my daughter LOVES the shrimp on the kids' menu, even though she's considered an adult now!

My family adores LeCellier.. We have some pretty great hibachi places here and found Teppan Edo kind of bland and we were dissapointed that they neither had the white sauce we are use to or the seasame fried rice..

Hi, I'm joining along. I was also looking at these two places. I think we may lean towards le cellier bec/ more my daughter would eat. That being said, do I really need a reservation for lunch? teppan would probably be great if your kids loved that kind of stuff.

If you want Le Cellier, then I would not chance it even for lunch.

*I* would personally make reservations for Teppan Edo as well. It's pretty popular even for lunch.

OP, Teppan Edo is the 1 place that my 11 year old requested as her must have meal at WDW this next trip. So we are doing lunch there and dinner at Le Cellier

I think for the entertainment value alone the Teppan Edo is a must. We always go there on every trip -- it is always an "experience". We've been to both and they are both great, but I would pick Teppan Edo if I could only go to one.

I love love love both of them.

We were at Teppan Edo on Sunday, and I had a female chef(?). We love hibachi food and it was unusual as they are typically male. We loved her!!! I think I remember her name but she was outstanding! Really, the best one ever!!!!

With kids, I'd say Teppan Edo, but its hard to pass up Le Cellier! IMO, you can't go wrong!

With BOys - I would recommend Teppan Edo...

My (now) DS 17 (who has been to WDW10 times) says that Teppan Edo is his #1 favorite "thing" about WDW ...over ANYTHING ELSE>>>

Another Teppen Edo vote. My kids appreciated the food at both, but loved the entertainment at Teppen.

We have been to and love both places -- my son is now 11 and he's been going to WDW yearly since he was 5.

The ONLY special concern I have for you is about your 2-year-old:

Teppan Edo is communal seating -- you sit at a counter that wraps around a grill top on which the temperature exceeds something like 500 degrees. I think with the new configuration since they remodeled, each table seats 9 people (and they fill the table up with guests). Can your 2-year-old sit in a seat, or does he need a high chair?

Can someone else comment on the availability of high chairs at Teppan Edo?

Your 8 and 12 year old will have no problem understanding not to reach in and touch anywhere near the grill service, but will they be OK being at a table that includes 4 people they don't know?

It is a fun experience, and definitely entertaining in a way that a standard restaurant (such as Le Cellier) is not, but think about whether the set-up will work for your family at Teppan Edo.

We love Teppan Edo.....I think you go there more for the experience/show than for the 'excellent' food. We all totally enjoyed our meal but it was not the best food I have ever eaten. Also, I thought it might be a little weird sharing a table but it was fine. You really don't sit that close to one another.

I would choose it again over LeCellier.

My kids were bored silly at Le Cellier, though the food was great. We had a hard time enjoying our experience there because we were racing to finish before our toddler's patience ran out. How well behaved is your youngest?

I have heard from friends that Teppan Edo is a fun place to dine, and the food, though simply prepared, is of high quality and very tasty. We'll be checking it out in August.

Le Cellier and Teppan Edo are two completely different dining experiences, so it really depends on what you're looking for that day. If you are looking for an experience that is more likely to entertain your children, I would choose Teppan Edo. However, if you are looking more for a restaurant that is intimate, go with Le Cellier. Both restaurants seem to provide consistently good service and food, so I wouldn't worry if that was your concern.
