Le Cellier or Chef's de France

Which of these would you choose & why?

I just asked DH, and we both agree we would choose Chefs de France over Le Cellier. The atmosphere and decor at Chefs de France is so much more fun. We both liked the bright "bistro" decor and enjoyed the people-watching. Le Cellier is darker and has no windows (it is supposed to be a cellar, after all! ).

Foodwise, DH thought the steaks at both places were just OK. I'm vegetrian and I loved the mac and cheese at Chefs de France!

That all depends...we prefer Le Cellier for dinner and Chefs de France for lunch.

Chefs de France is our favorite restaurant at WDW. The food is utterly remarkable, and the service is superior.

Le Cellier is a nice restaurant, though we've had mediocre steaks there, and undistinguished service.

They are very different choices! We did LeCellier for lunch and Chefs for dinner on our last trip. Enjoyed both but they were really different. If I were forced to pick, I'd say LeCellier.

My personal choice would be LeCellier, hands down. Have been to both every trip over the last five years, for dinner only, and found the service and food to always be better at LeCellier. Chefs de France is also good (not great), just for us, LeCellier always came out on top.

When we went early DEC, we had lunch at LeCellier which we love the Cheese soup and then the Hamburger which is very delicious. This fills us up for the day. Very nice atmosphere and the pretzel breadsticks are delicious! We tried Chefs de France for the first time this last trip, and ate there for dinner. Wow, what a great meal, but go hungry, esp if you order the "french meal" which most of us did. For about 25 bucks a person, we got french onion soup , then the rotisserie chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable i believe, then dessert was creme brulee, which was a huge portion per person in my opinion. The food was great and we will be going back there again for sure next time.
I think LeCellier is very high priced for dinner so we eat there for lunch now every time. Chefs de France is average priced for both lunch and dinner in comparison to other sit down restaurants in Disney.
Whichever one you choose, you will enjoy! Have a great time!

Loved Le Cellier...........OMG.........THE BEST FOOD AT WDW.........but then again I haven't eaten in France. WE loved Le Cellier........it was sooo yummy.

I had a great lunch at Chef de France and a mediocre dinner at LeCellier in early December. For service and atmosphere, Chef wins hands down. I was surprised at the friendly service at Chef's and extremely disappointed in LeCellier's. However, the Cheddar Cheese Soup at LeCellier is worth a trip.

What made for a great experience at Chef's was our waiter recognizing that the toddler in our group was not in a mood to wait for food. His food was brought to him within 5 minutes of ordering while the rest of the party enjoyed a slower paced meal. The entire staff of LeCellier's (from the front desk person to our server) seemed disorganized and overwhelmed and just "off their game".

The atmosphere of Chef's is much lighter and nicer than LeCellier's. Maybe I am getting claustrophobic in my old age, but I much preferred the view from Chef's than the dungeon like setting of LeCellier's.

I have only been to Chef's, but we love it here. They have THE BEST onion soup and they have this awesome dessert with little cream puffs, but with ice cream and smothered in chocolate sauce. The service is great and they aim to please. DD didn't like her tuna the first year and they brought her something else with no charge. The tuna had too many spices. Also, this was the only place that asked about my allergies when we were seated. It is a must do when we visit WDW. They have wonderful coffee as well. It was fun because our last name is French and it was interesting to hear them pronouce it and what the different ways to pronouce it mean. We have only eaten lunch there...can't wait to get back!

I would do both, one night Chef, one night Cellier. If u have park hopper and can't find anything else that interest you. Like after a day at AK, hop back to Epcot and try all those resturants in World Showcase.

We've done both and if I had to pick one, it would def be Le Cellier. The food there was awesome. The building is really cool on the inside, and the grounds are very, very pretty. And add to the equation the fact that I just did not like Chefs de France. The building was gorgeous and our server was very accomodating, but the food just did not do it for me. Won't be back and I was actually kind of bummed that we wasted a meal there. BTW, we are pretty adventurous diners, so that wasn't the problem. It just wasn't as good as I had expected.

If you can only go to one. Go to France first. Unless you go out and eat French food all the time. Epcot is your opprotunity to try things from around the World.

remember the Chef in France is French. In the End after trying both Le Celler may be what you like better (Depends on the person) But, new things is the spice of Life.

However, Restaurant Marrakesh is absoulutly delish. We had the Lamb and it was to die for, and belly dancers come out and dance with live music during your meal. The food here is not Spicy(hot) so tamer taste buds will be happy here. I can't remember if it's on +dining or not, but it was our favorite in the World showcase between the 2 you mentioned and this one.

I would chose Le Cellier. I love the cheddar cheese soup, and the steaks are always fantastic. I have never had a bad meal there, and I eat there every trip.

I was very disappointed by Chef's de France. Thought it was very overpriced, small portions, not very good. Horrible service at best. Maybe I just hit it on a wrong day, but I have no desire to go back.

We prefer Le Cellier. But it's all about what you like, I guess. If you go to Le Cellier, you HAVE to have the Cheddar Soup! The Filet Mignon is great, too!

Can you view Illuminations from this restaurant? Are there 2 floors or just one at this restaurant? How flexible are they with requests to omit certain things or substitutions?

Chefs de France is downstairs. Bistro de Paris is upstairs. You cannot really see Illuminations from Chefs de France, because of the dozens of people standing in the way, between the restaurant and the lagoon. Bistro de Paris has four or five tables (only) that have some significant view of Illuminations.
