I just saw on allearsnet that Le Cellier has had menu changes. Does anyone know what was updated/removed/changed?

Please tell me it's not the Mushroom Filet, Cheddar cheese soup or Pretzel Breadsticks!:scared1:

No, it looks like those items are still on the menu ... I do notice (from the last time I was there in Dec 2006) that they have added to the dinner menu a Shrimp and Scallop entree, they changed the Free Range Chicken entree, and added a Squash Ravioli entree ... it also looks like they added a Duck Confit to the appetizers ...

Looks like they added a chicken and sausage appetizer as well. I wonder what the current desserts are though. They used to be listed previously on the site.

Ok, I thought the shrimp and scallop dish was new along with the squash ravioli! I can never trust my memory though.

And yes, I am waiting to see what they add on the dessert menu!

I think they removed the tuna appetizer that I had in Septemeber. The shrimp cocktail apptizer was WAY better though. Looking forward to eating there again in January! :thumbsup2

I hope the creme brule is still on the menu!!

They said they were taking the creme brule off of the menu a couple of months ago...

We were there on September 18 on a Tuesday. Our server said that the new menu had started that Sunday. I can't remember everything that was on the dessert menu, but in our party, we had whiskey chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and the creme brulee. The creme brulee was not a "duo". It was just one flavor. It seems like the cherry shortcake was still on the menu.

Duck Confit instead of Duck Two Ways. The spiced black bean cake seems to be replaced by Heirloom Squash Ravioli.

That's the only differences I noticed.

The Maple BBQ Glazed Filet is gone. :scared1: I was sooooo looking forward to that. I might have to change my ressies. :sad2:

are yall talking about the filet mignon with the maple bbq sauce and mashed potatoes? They still have it posted on Debs. I hope they still have it anway:confused:

The Cheese Soup and to a little lesser extent are Signature Dishes at Le Cellier... The Cheese Soup is in the DIsney Cookbook even! (I made it the other day using 2 year aged White TIllamook and Butter milk... Topped with A dollop of Goat Cheese..MMM)

The point being, as LONG as Le Cellier is open, I would bet any amount of money those stay on the menu.

Does anyone know how big the portions are at Le Cellier?

I like quantity just as much as quality

I also wanted to order this next month and saw it still listed on Debs menu. However a couple of recent reviews I read said the filet is now served with mased sweet potatoes :confused3 . I HATE sweet potatoes so I don't think I'll still be ordering this.

I hope someone can confirm it's still on the menu.

I used to be the same way... I love quantity, so I would always get the porterhouse because it was bigger. Now I usually get the rib eye... its smaller, but the flavor is so much better because of the marbling... and if its bone in.... MMM... Bone-in Ribeye (Drooool)

Its funny though because if you start to dine at higher end places like a V and A or a Charlie Trotters, Tru, French Laundry, etc that uses stellar ingredients with really simple recipes (by simple I mean not too many ingredients or flavors on the plate that conflict with each other) you'll find that you actually get very full from these. Its amazing because the portions never look big, but by the end of the meal, you are stuffed! Maybe its the the coursing or the fact you usually spend a lot more time there than at a Le Cellier, Yachtsman, Ruth Chris, Chop House (all places I adore, BTW) but it always amazes me.

Anyway sorry, to answer your question, yes they are generous.

I haven't at Le Cellier, but I have asked for different sides before at other WDW restaurants and most of the time they were cool about... Hell, I asked at Les Chefs de France and they did it without a complaint or anything.

Can't confirm or deny that the mashed potatoes are sweet potatoes, but, I can say that they will be happy to substitute rice, baked potato, etc if you ask. For me, I ordered their prime rib & asked instead of the potatoes with the demi-glaze that I get them plain, and they were happy to accomodate the request. Don't worry, it's Disney, they're used to reasonable (& unreasonable too!) food requests :rotfl:

Enjoy the Magic!

I was there Oct. 8th and had the Maple Glazed Filet with cream cheese mashed potatoes. (Yum!!!) Also had the creme brulet for dessert.

Hope this helps.
