I searched for this info and found another thread, but it was older so I wanted more recent opinions.

We have never eaten at Le Cellier and it's a must do for our March trip. Currently we have an ADR for Thursday March 29th at 7:25pm. I'm wondering if I should switch it to a lunch ADR for two reasons.

1. I know the parks will be crowded and we will be at EPCOT early that day and will want to take a break in the afternoon and come back for dinner. Do we run the risk of the park being at capacity and not getting back in?

2. If we did lunch, we would free up another TS credit on our dining plan by only using 1 credit vs the 2 it takes for dinner.

I've looked at the menus but that doesn't really help me too much since we've never been there.

Thanks!

We were there two summers ago for the first time. We really want to go there again, but I can't justify 2 TS credits. We are going to do lunch to save the TS credit.

With regards to the park closing due to capacity, it seems unlikely, especially since you're staying onsite. Capacity closures tend to be limited to Christmas week, 4th of July, and Easter weekend.

Both lunch and dinner are very yummy at Le Cellier. I had the filet at both meals. The lunch portion is smaller (5 oz versus 8 oz) and the mushroom risotto had larger pieces of mushrooms at dinner. The cheddar cheese soup was the same. The duck meatballs are really good and only at lunch. The ribeye at dinner was my Mom's favorite. The desserts at lunch are more "fun" (chocolate moose (yes, it looks like a moose) and s'mores).

At the bottom of this post are a few photos from a dinner in October:

Overall, because I would order the cheese soup and filet, lunch is the better option.

I know you said you haven't been there before, but I would look at the menus again and try and figure out which menu looks more appealing to you. If the items you want are on both, such as the filet, cheddar cheese soup, or chicken & chipotle sausage I would choose lunch.

We had lunch and dinner there in October. While smaller, I couldn't tell the difference in the quality of the filet (Canadian beef at dinner vs non-Canadian at lunch). Some dishes are better at dinner (mushroom risotto, poutine), but the cheddar cheese soup and breadsticks are identical.

At lunchtime I highly recommend the burger. For dinner the rib eye steak was outstanding. I had it with the mushroom risotto instead of the potatoes.

Dinner is 2 TS credits, but it isn't up to the level of the other signature restaurants in terms of ambiance, attention to detail and service. I guess what I'm trying to say is unless you want to try some dishes that are exclusive to dinner, I would choose lunch.

Le Cellier is a must for us each Disney Trip. The lunch menu is almost the same as dinner. We booked at 2:45 lunch...Can't wait! No sense using 2 TS credits when we could book a late lunch! You won't regret it! We've had great food/ service every time we've been.

The lunch menu is almost the same as dinner..

I just looked on the Disney dining reservations page and the lunch and dinner menus for LeCellier are the ones we ordered from when we were there in October and I think there's quite a differnce in the selections. There are only 2 appetizers and 2 entrees that appear on both menus. For the filet offering there are some differences between the two. It is 5 oz at lunch vs 8 oz for dinner and the mushroom risotto has larger pieces and a greater variety of mushrooms at dinner.

When Le Cellier became a Signature restaurant at dinnertime, they made a number of changes to the dinner menu, but the lunch menu has remained relatively unchanged.

We have done both lunch and dinner here. It is one of our favorite places. Since they switched to 2 credits at dinner, we go at lunch now and I honestly do not see much of a difference. The pretzel bread is still available at lunch and honestly between that the mushroom filet I do not need anything else. Great restaurant!

mmm...Mushroom Filet.... 18 days and counting down... ;)

Thanks everyone! I just switched to a lunch ADR. Only 12:50 was available. I was hoping for a little later, but at least I got one and I can always keep checking for something later! This is the part of the trip that DH is looking forward to the most!

And now I get to figure out one more TS meal for our trip! Decisions, decisions . . .
