Le Cellier Lunch vs. Dinner

Is there a big difference? I'm on the Deluxe DDP so I don't care about the # of credits. But, a late lunch (2:50) works into our schedule a bit better than a dinner. However, our family has always loved dinner @ Le Cellier, and a good meal there is a specific request from DH and DD12 so if lunch isn't as good, I want to do dinner. Any experiences/thoughts? Thanks!

If a 2:50 lunch would fit in better into your schedule, and you're on the DDP, then I think you might as well go for lunch. The mushroom filet with truffle butter sauce still tastes really good at lunch IMO, and the cheddar cheese soup and maple crème brûlée are both available and basically the same at lunch or dinner. Sounds like you'll have a good meal either way, so you might as well pick lunch. :)

We like lunch just as well, but we aren't super heavy eaters. I tend to split a sandwich with someone and get some soup, or just get soup and a side, or split a side! Lol. Here's the lunch and dinner menus to give you a better idea.

Thanks for the menus. I wish I was good at eating as lightly as you :rotfl:

Ok, that's what I was worried about, that I wouldn't be able to get the same type/quality of food at lunch. Thank you for confirming for me! :goodvibes

I prefer lunch at Le Cellier over dinner. The portion sizes are more reasonable as are the prices. The PEI Mussels appetizer is wonderful; it's on the lunch menu lately, but not on the dinner menu.

We had lunch and dinner at Le Cellier last month and there were some differences we noticed.

The filet size is larger at dinner than lunch (5 oz vs 8 oz) although both were prepared perfectly. The mushroom risotto at dinner has larger pieces of mushroom and a greater variety of types of mushrooms.

The rib eye steak at dinner was one of the best steaks I had in DW. Great flavor.

There are some interesting appetizers on both menus, but my favorite the Duck Meatballs are only available at lunch.

The cheddar cheese soup and breadsticks are identical at both meals, although at dinner it does come with butter enhanced with sea salt.

The poutine is much closer to authentic at dinner, don't bother with it at lunch.

As far as atmosphere and service, Le Cellier is not equal to the experience we had at other Signature restaurants. Service was smooth and well paced, but lacked the attention to small details and the depth of knowledge that staff at other restaurants provided automatically.

Overall, the food was well prepared at both meals so it depends on what you would like to order. As far as I can tell, they will not serve lunch items at dinner or vice versa. For me, I guess I would sacrifice the duck meatballs for the rib eye and go for dinner. :)
