Le Cellier: lunch vs. dinner

So I'm getting ready to make my dining reservations, and am wondering whether to get Le Cellier for lunch or dinner. We have been to Le Cellier multiple times - mostly at lunch, I think - and am just trying to figure out what the differences are.

I've looked at the menus on Deb's site, and I just see a slightly more extensive selection list for dinner. I already know that I'm getting the filet with mushroom risotto , and I'm trying to figure out if there is any difference between the lunch and dinner portions besides the increase in cost.

I believe the steaks are the same size at lunch/dinner. I actually prefer lunch at Le Cellier as the wait pass your adr can be long at dinnertime. We also found the service/ kitchen to be slower in the evening.

Thanks for your response. The last reservation we had was at 11:30, right when it opened. I think we'll stick with that!

There was a similar post to this not long ago and the replies stated that lunch portions were smaller than dinner. We have lunch reservations for Le Cellier, and I'm thinking I'll prefer the time due to price and I've heard wait times past ADR can be long for dinner.

Take whatever you can get. This place seems to be the "HOT" place to go. It is so difficult to get a reservation for either meal these days. I don't know why? Don't get me wrong, it is good but I just don't remember it being so difficult to get into.

We had lunch and dinner at Le Cellier on our last trip. My daughter ordered the fillet with mushroom risotto both times and the lunch portion was smaller. It was 5 oz. at lunch and (I think) 8 oz at dinner. It was delicious.

Ditto this! I originally wanted dinner but when my day came to be able to make reservations, Le Cellier was already all booked for dinner! So, I got one of the last lunch times available.

I totally agree with the above. I can't ever remember having such a difficult time getting a reservation for a restaurant like Le Cellier. And when I do try to get an ADR I'm very flexible with my time. I shoot for lunch and see where I wind up!

The tradeoff at this grossly over-hyped spot is that while dinner portions are a little bigger, seating is much faster at lunch. LeCellier is infamous for long waits for evening ADRrs, which is why lunch ADRS (which historically were easier to get) are becoming the truly hot item here.

So pick your poison: a little less beef or a much longer wait.

I actually really like lunch, the sandwiches are very tasty. I think the steaks there are kind of overrated, and would rather go to Yachtsman or Narcoossees for dinner if I wanted a filet. And dinner is so crowded and hectic there, I don't think I'll ever end up having dinner there again.

We have done the last two years for Dinner and we had never waited longer than 5 Minutes from our reservation time. We are going again this May
and also made a dinner reservation.
