Le Cellier Lunch or Dinner

We're on the dining plan and currently have ADRs at LC for lunchtime. While I would really like to get the most for our money, I chose lunchtime over dinner because I had read how crowded it would be after 6:00 p.m., and how slow the service was. Of course the prices are higher then, so I assume that along with more choices you would also get more on your plate. I did notice that some things such as the filet are also offered at lunch. Has anyone eaten there at lunchtime that thinks it is worth eating there then, or do they skimp on the food? Thanks for any input!

We've eaten at Le Cellier for both lunch and dinner. They don't skimp on lunch at all. There is plenty to eat. That said, you'd probably get more bang for your buck at dinner.

I don't believe the service there is necessarily slow; I prefer "leisurely". For the most part the servers provide ample time for you to relax and enjoy your meal. If you order appetizers, you have plenty of time to eat them without having your entree pushed under your nose before you finish the appetizer. Likewise, if you order dessert, normally the bill is delivered after you finish.

If you are pressed for time (such as a late ADR and you don't want to miss Illuminations), certainly tell your server. I'm sure they can/will accommodate you.

We ate there at lunch--twice--on our trip Nov 8-15. Absolutely delicious and plenty of food. I ordered the Prince Edward Island Mussels and DH ordered the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup as appetizers. I highly recommend both. I could have ordered another plate of mussels and made that it. They were wonderful. I got the beef tenderloin salad and DH got a grilled steak burger. The portions were huge, but we shared a maple creme brulee for dessert. The ambience was quiet and unhurried and our food was well prepared and scrumptious. I highly recommend lunch here.

I haven't had lunch there, only dinner and it was fantastic. I have heard only great things about the lunches there also. The restaurant is not "slow", it is so nice not to be rushed, I would call it more of a leisure dinner. If you don't want to spend your park time eating in there, make a late reservation, say 8:00 or so and use it as the end to your day. We did that and it was great, we had seen Illuminations the night before and we could hear the display going on as we ate.

We had lunch there in October, I was bumed out that we could not get diner, but the luch was FANTASTIC!!!! It was probably better for us as well since we had our 16 month DD with us. The food was great and the service was wonderful. It is a leisurely meal, but like someone else posted I am sure they could speed it along if you requested it.

Well guys I hate to be the naysayer but when we went on Nov 14 the service was EXTREMELY slow. Our dinner took over 2 hours. We were actually seated at the table from about 6:50- 9:10 p.m. The food was excellent but the service was TERRIBLE. We are frequent diners as are our children--not to Le Cellier but in general. We go out to eat at nicer restuarants about twice a week as a family and have only once recieved such terrible service. The server actually cleared the table of everything after she had taken out dessert orders and handed us each a spoon. Over 20 minutes later we finally recieved our desserts. Then it took us quite a while to even get the check. My children actually fell asleep waiting for each course. It was ridiculous. We felt very uncomfortable as we were seated in a walkway to begin with. The whole experience soured us on the restuarant wich is kinda sad because the food was delicious. Anyways this was the only bad experience we had on our 8 days trip to WDW. We ate at CRT dinner and breakfast, 1900 Park Fare, Boma, Crystal Palace, Le Chefs de France (GREAT SERVICE-food was a bit bland but probably on par with most French Food), and Liberty Tree Tavern.

How dressy is this place. I'd like to plan supper here, but if we'll be in the park all day, we'll probably be in shorts. Will we be in the minority? Do we need to plan on going back to our resort to change?

We love lunch there for our family of five. I tell you, you can make the hot cheese soup and their breadsticks as a lunch itself..YUM, YUM YUM. But we did order the cheeseburgers and split them. I was stuffed. Our youngest son literally just orders the breadsticks for his lunch, we all love them so much.

Does everyone know you can get an order of cheese soup and breadsticks to go? We tried this last trip when the restaurant was closed to walkups, and ate it out on their benches, it was perfect.

We went in park clothes (shorts) and everyone was dressed that way.

We did lunch in late August. We were on the dining plan, and had plenty of food. I had a french dip, and my son had the filet. I would have been happy to have nothing but soup and breadsticks! Obviously, dinner prices are higher and you get more out of the dining plan, but I honestly could not have eaten another bite at lunch. I ordered the maple creme brulee and only ate half I was so full.

My husband and I are going back next summer. We will probably have lunch there rather than dinner. It's a nice break on a hot day!
