Since we will be on the dining plan I was looking a the dessert selections. In your opinion which is the best? Also, the Chocolate Whisky Cake says it is "finished with orange marmalade". Is that a topping that can be eliminated? Just wondering because my DS(13) is considered an adult on the meal plan, but he still has "kid" tastes. I don't think that he will like the marmalade.

For your son definitly the smores even though its from the kids menu! It is huge......wonder if anyone can post a pic??? and for adults definitly the maple creme brulee........out of this world! :cool1:

The sorbet is awesome....something I think kids would love! But hey, everything at Le Cellier is fabulous!

I had the sampler, but I think I read somewhere (can't remember where??) that it wasn't included in the Dining anymore?
Anyway, it has the creme brulee also and it is Fantastic!!

To answer your question about the orange marmalade--DH & I both choose this dessert this past Dec. It really only has a tiny bit of orange. It's mostly the yummy chocolate cake! We thought it was great!

There are pics of Le Cellier's desserts on the Pics of Disney Food thread.

We had the dessert sampler on the dining plan, we just had to use it for 2 people's desserts.

My dh had the seasonal fruit cobbler thing served in a cast iron fry pan and really liked it.
Sons had the chocolate "moose", the smores, and a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
All were good.

We were justy there a few weeks ago and I had the fruit cobbler and it was the BEST I have ever had!! Dh and 2 of the kids had the Whiskey cake and really liked it, didn't even notice the orange on it and each of the little ones has the chocolate moose that was way too CUTE to eat and very good and the smores were also very good and set up nice!
I really don't think there is anything bad there :worship:

Thanks so much for the replies! I never even thought of having him order off the kids dessert menu! Everything sounds so good - I can't wait to eat there!

My DD16 had the whiskey cake and loved it, my DD11 had the "moose" and I had the maple creme brulee. Maybe I'm biased because I love creme brulee, but it was just the right thing with coffee following such a big meal. Whatever you order, it will be YUMMY!

:flower:

Over Christmas we ate there for lunch. I had the chocolate whiskey cake and DH had the maple creme brulee... both outstanding!!! :goodvibes The kids had the choc mousse and s'mores...

And no one left a single crumb!!

I always get the Smores or the Chocolate Moose, even though I'm an adult (big kid) ;)

We ate there in December and my kids and I had the Chocolate Whisky cake my husband had the raspberry sorbet.

He said the sorbet was good. My kids and I loved the cake. We asked for the orange on the side.

Here are some pictures of both.

I loved the chocolate cake and I am a very picky eater. I wasn't goinig to get it the first time we ate because of the marmalade but I'm glad I did. Now I'm counting down the days until I go in March and can have it again.

So he'll be okay with the whisky? LOL

Ok, A dumb question. What is the chocolate moose made of? Is is cake with moose?
No, its like a fluffy chocolate mousse, topped with chocolate cookie type crumbs. It was pretty good.

That's what I was thinking. I know the alcohol burns off in cooking, but a noticable whisky flavor would have been too much for me when I was younger. I don't like the stuff even now. I've always liked marmalade - grew up on it - so I'm not a good judge on that one. :)

Another vote for the creme brulee!! It's one of the best on site!
