If you've done the Chef's selection at Le Cellier - how are the main dishes? Particularly the salmon (likely me - diet) and prime rib (DH)? Also, has anyone tried the spicy chicken & sausage appetizer, how is that? I'm all about the cheddar soup, but DH not so much.

Thanks!

I would love to hear the replies to this too. Considering eating there on our next trip.

We ate here recently and my father-in-law had the prime rib. It was so awful in his opinion that he sent it back to the kitchen. :scared1: Our waiter was really wonderful about it and said he'd bring anything else to satisfy my father-in-law. He chose the mushroom filet (which I also had and it was incredible!) and loved every morsel. BTW, this nice couple sitting beside us leaned over to say they'd tried the prime rib here before and sent it back as well.

Nobody in our party had the chicken/sausage appetizer though, sorry. :goodvibes

I did not have the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage Appetizer at Le Cellier, but I tried it at the Montreal Stall at the Food and Wine Festival as my server at Le Cellier had gone on about this appetizer a bit.

I had some misgivings about the sausage being chicken. I love chicken, but don't really like chicken mince or sausages. This was a real surprise though. It had a beautiful flavour to it and was mildly spicy. I love Polenta, but when I tried a fork-full on its own before trying the sausage, it seemed very sweet to me and unlike any Polenta that I had before. However, if you have the Polenta, the sausage and the sweet onion relish together, they perfectly complement each other and the whole dish is delicious.

Would I have it again. Well, that rather depends. I don't think I would have it at Le Cellier as I do prefer the Cheddar Cheese Soup and would hate to miss out on that. However, if it was available at the Food and Wine Festival in future, this would be a must have for me (with a portion of Cheddar Cheese Soup to go with it).

Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage Appetizer is my favorite dish!!! I have had it twice and it is delicious. I like the Cheddar cheese soup too but would never choose it over the sausage. I haven't decided yet what entree to have...would love to hear some recommendations for that (from the Chefs Selection Menu):earsboy:

The mushroom filet was wonderful...one of the best I have ever had.....I think that they may have pictures in the picture thread above of the apps at Le Cellar.

DW & I have broken bread at Le Cellier everytime we have been to the World. It is indeed our favorite restaurant. But I must admit that it is hit or miss sometimes. I have had the PR twice; the first was outstanding, the second time I was so disappointed!

We have had such a varied experience that this December trip we do not have any ADR for Le Cellier! :scared1: We decided to give it a rest, and maybe our May 2010 trip we will return.

I'm sure we will live through it, but we might not be able to walk past Canada without a feeling of regret; which makes for a very long walk back out of World Showcase from England!

I ordered the salmon last time there, just to break the fillet habit. Very fresh, nicely prepared (one poached, one pan sauteed), but just so-so. It was OK, but I won't order it again. It's the fillet for me next time!

Hubby has tried the prime rib and liked it well enough, thought it was too fatty, but he's not really fussy like I am.

Le Cellier is a must for each of our trips. We ate there in Aug. and everything was wonderful. I had the prime rib and it was delicious. Mine hardly had any fat and was cooked just right. I get the prime rib every trip and have never had a problem with it.

MIL and DH both did the Chef's selection. They both were very happy with their Prime Ribs. SIL and I are in the process of writing up our dining report, and we h ave pics if you are interested.

I was very disappointed with the Cheddar Cheese soup at the F&W Festival. Too high in price for the tiny Dixie cup portion they provided. The soup is great, but it isn't gold.

We had the prime rib in September, it was disappointing to us also. Though we didn't think it was marbled enough. It is the same cut as a rib-eye steak and should have good marbling in the meat. We found it dry and just disappointing.
