Le Cellier cancellations Aug 28 & 31 and Sep 2

oh my! Two of those are perfect days for me!! I only wish I had seen your post prior to 10pm. I will have to try in the morning. Thanks for putting it out there. I hope I get one of them!!!

Well, I cancelled because several people on the Disboards reported that the time to eat dinner at Le Cellier (wait for table and then slow service after getting a table) can be excessive, with many reporting flustered staff excusing the wait by saying "well, it's the most popular restaurant in Epcot", and I don't have time for long meals as my kids are very little and we need to eat relatively quickly to have a little post-dinner time for park touring before early sleep.

Though there were some negative reviews of Le Cellier, most reviews were positive.

We switched to Alfredo's cause we love the Fettuccine Alfredo there, and the service is quick.

I edited my initial post to indicate that all of the cancalled reservations were for a party of 4.

We also have a reservation at around this time on 31st August. Whoever picks this one up, we can have a loooong chat in line whilst we're waiting.

Can I ask why you had so many ADR's at LeCellier?
When folks make multiple ADR's that they have no intention of using, other folks are denied the opportunity for an ADR they will use.

We have just walk in and have waited on. Found out that even if you have a PS or not same wait.   party: party: party: party:

So......you were going to eat at Le Cellier 3 times? But now you are going to eat at Alfredo's 3 times? Or were you just going to go once, and cancel the other 2 on the day of the ressie?

People, this is why you keep calling. There are many people like this that have multiple ADR's for one place. They even keep them sometimes right up until the day of the ADR so the lesson is, if you haven't gotten a time yet, DON'T GIVE UP! Pixie dust might just shower you...... pixiedust: :teeth:

While I appreciate the OP posting the cancellations....

For anyone looking for ADRs between June 30 and July 12, 2006, I have just cancelled the following ADRs (changing my trip to Aug/Sep):

Jun 30 Crystal Palace 8:05am
Jun 30 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 1 Crystal Palace 8:05am
July 1 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 3 Crystal Palace 8:05am
July 3 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 3 Liberty Tree Tavern 5:30pm
July 5 Crystal Palace 8:05am
July 5 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 5 Liberty Tree Tavern 5:30pm
July 8 Crystal Palace 8:05am
July 8 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 10 Crystal Palace 8:05am
July 10 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 10 Hollywood & Vine 5:30pm
July 12 Crystal Palace 8:05am
July 12 Crystal Palace 11:50am
July 12 Liberty Tree Tavern 5:30pm

14 ADR's for CP I guess the OP would have used one of them and 13 other people would have been shut out of ADR's until the OP made a decision :sad2: I hope someone out there was able to enjoy these meals! Maybe this will help some people out there understand the problem of people making multiple ADR's.

I wonder how many other ADR's the OP has for their August trip?????

Wow. I have been reading the threads regarding multiple ADRs, but I had no idea anyone would actually make 14 different reservations for the same restaurant. I guess I didn't really understand the multiple ADR argument after all. :confused3

Wow!!! I've never made multiple ADR's, but I do understand when people make one or two because they haven't confirmed their vacation schedule.

The OP seems to abuse the system, and it is quite sad. Why would you need this many ADR's at the same place? It's hard enough making reservations, but I have to say this just seems really selfish. The funny think is OP thinks they are doing us a favor by posting that they just canceled a bunch of ADR's which they probably should have made in the first place. :confused3

My goodness, the DDP certainly brings the claws out in some people. The OP was conscientious enough to cancel the ADR's before they got there and kind enough to post it here so fellow DIS'ers could possibly get one of the ressies. Give 'em a break folks...there's plenty of food to go around.

I agree, thanks for saying what I was feeling too. I thought it was nice that the person let folks know they were canceling. Everyone has the same opportunities to make their ADRs whether one or a hundred and it's no body's business. I've been on the disboads for a long time, and have been pretty unhappy with all the back biting lately. After many years on the boards, I am embarrassed to tell folks that I belong to these boards. I feel bad for the lurkers, because I can certainly understand why most are afraid to post.

If you think about it, that's just plan silly.

I think about all the time that's wasted. Her, time making the Adr's, the CM's time placing the ADR's, other travelers time trying to find one time that would fit into their schedule, and then going back through with the CM to cancel them all.

To each their own, but if you make a post like this, you are going to get all kinds of feedback.

If no one questions this kind of thing, doesn't it encourage others to do the same thing? How many posts have there been where others were encouraged to commit this type of abuse. IMHO saying nothing condones what is being said and I do not condone it.

Yes, the OP cancelled and posted. BUT how many people were calling in the months prior attempting to get ADR's on even one of those days. It is time consuming and expensive to have to keep trying to call hoping for an opening. I couldn't get Ohana when we wanted, is it due to this kind of thing??

Regardless of the discussion of multiple ADRs I find these threads about cancellations amusing.

It would be literally a miracle if anyone saw the posting here and was actually able to get the ADR. They are gone within minutes of the cancellation.

You literally would have to be online at the exact moment it was posted and maybe, you might get it, but seriously doubt it.

It is a nice gesture but not really necessary.

Next time you book several ADRs, pay attention to your confirmation number. In the length of time it took to book your first ADR and then your second ADR, look at how many other ADRs were booked in between. That will give you some idea of how quickly they are filling up.

Oh my goodness!! I would never think to have two or more ressies at the same place just because it is more fun to eat everywhere. I would feel guilty to know that as I am making my ressies, that I am only going to cancel them later. Maybe that is just me but we get our room ressies then decide about our food ressies. I have been doing that now going on our 10th trip in October 2006. While I didn't get all of the times I had wanted on the dime, so what. You are in WDW having the time of your life with your family who actually still want to spend time with you. You compromise and go forth to have fun. If I get one ressie that I really wanted at the time I really wanted (I got three out of seven at the exact time I wanted), I am happy. We just change our suppers to lunch or vice versa. You can eat at weird times because you are up at weird times. You don't have to keep the same eating schedule that you do at home. YOU ARE AT WDW WORLD BE SPONTANIOUS. I also have a stomach issue and so if I can do it so can you. We are also eating free again this year so who cares if my ressie is two hours after I wanted it!! Now if you have small children then bring them food in your backpack or leave a ice chest in the lockers. I always bring snacks and my kids are 12, 8, and 40 (hubby). I hope these type of people let loose and have fun while they are there. Life is too short to spend on getting upset with selfish people and upset if your adr's aren't the same as your first draft. There are reasons for everything. And eating earlier really is better because their are not alot of people and the waiters/waitresses are feeling stressed yet. Or eat as late as you can, the same thing happens. We do a little of everything except eat at the same time that we do at home. Be free, have fun and remember what is important on vacation---memories that will last a lifetime. Don't forget to be a good witness while on vacation too. I love good, happy attitudes while I am waiting in line for a ride!!!

Sammie, I have always wondered the same thing. Has anyone on these boards ever gotten an ADR that was "announced" here? I just have to wonder at the miracle if they did!

Oh, and I want to thank the OP. I think of myself as an anal planner . We have 10 dinners to plan and I have 10 ADR's (oh, how I have agonized over those 10 ADR's :p ), but the OP makes me look like a lightweight!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've never understood why people got so crazy over other people making multiple ADRs. (On occasion, we've had one or two extra while debating which one to choose, then cancelled the extra). I stand corrected -- now I get what all the fuss is about! It never occurred to me that multiple would be so many -- guess I wont be able to make that one extra now without feeling like I'm cheating someone else.
