Do you think it is okay to take the kids to Le Cellier?

I've booked Le Cellier for the Candlelight Processional in December using my MYW with dining. The problem - I have a 5 year old and 1 year old. They are used to eating out and are usually pretty well behaved but can have their moments like any kids.

We have a 4:30 pm reservation for dinner and 6:45 for the Candlelight Processional.

absolutely. Every restaurant in Disney (except V&A) is kid friendly, especially ones in the park.

My kids love Le Cellier's pretzel bread. I'm going to bet your kids will too.

Did you get the Candlelight Dinner with your MYW Dining Plan????? I have the dining plan also and I was told no way. Because of that I decided it was too expensive to pay an additional fee for a family of 9 adults to go the the Processional Dinner. Do you have the Ultimate package where everything is included to anything possible imagined? That's what they told me I had to have in order to get tickets. I would appreciate any info!!!

I have the CP package with Le Cellier, and we are on the MYW Dining Plan. Eight adults, and two children, and there was no problem making the reservation. Oh, and I called back and asked; there is not a limited menu for this, it's full menu.

This is a fairly recent addition, maybe you should call back.

I did reserve the CP using MYW with dining. Yesterday when I called the CM told me I couldn't reserve until 90 days out. However the allearsnet team told me to call back and try again. I did and there was no problem. Just try calling again. If they don't let you reserve it with MYW dining the allearsnet team suggested asking to speak to a supervisor.

I may have posted twice by accident. I'm new here and just figuring stufff out. I Love the DIS boards.

we saw lots of kids at LeCellier...it isn't real formal, more clubish

When I went August 17th there were many many kids in there. Even though it looks a little fancier then some, it is not a real fancy restaurant. I mean they still know they are a nice resturant in a park. There were many kids and many people with park attire.

The food is great. Enjoy.

There are only three places in WDW where kids don't seem overly welcomed, Bistro, Shula's, and V&A's. That said, I also wouldn't bring single digits to Citrico's.

Le Cellier is a casual steakhouse, IMHO no better or worse than the average Outback type of place, and well behaved children are always welcomed. Regretfully those who don't have well-behaved kids that go anyhow are too self-absorbed to understand the concept to begin with.

LeCel was a great place for a small child - DD was 4 last time we ate there and the CMs were so great with her; she left her stuffed animal behind and our waiter ran out to return it!! :teeth: She gave him a hug to say thanks and he had the biggest smile on his face. I can't wait to be back in that atmosphere!!

Thanks for the comparison to Outback. That gives me a solid image to work with. My kids have been to Outback several times. Our kids are usually well behaved and if they aren't either my DH or I usually take the offending child outside. No reason to ruin everyone elses meal. We've had a few tag team dinners in our time.

I can also second most of what was said earlier. This is one of both my kid's favorite restaurants. They love the pretzels they serve in place of bread and usually ask for more. Dessert is not to missed either. They do a great presentation for the kids and the staff is very friendly and answers questions about Canada. Lots of kids...great food!

Is Le Cellier really no better than an Outback? That will be quite a disappointment for us then. Given the rave reviews I was expecting something more on the order of a Ruth Chris.......

Sorry, not even close--less expensive though...

I really don't see much that is the same between Outback and LeCellier, other than the fact that they serve steak. Outback is very loud and busy, LeCellier is much more quiet and sedate with a more upscale appearance. I don't think LeCellier serves any kind of "blooming" anything and presentation seems better at LeCellier. It is one of our favorite Disney restaurants (we don't use the babysitters so, we have never been to the non-child friendly places).

We have taken our DS, ages 4 and 7 to LeCellier several times in the past few years with no problems but, we do end up having to tell them to quiet down a few times (they are very well behaved children but, heck, they are boys!). A booth is best with little ones, they are back against the wall and gives them a little room to squirm.

Right on to the lady who pointed out that parents of kids who are allowed to ruin the atmosphere of a restaurant are on a whole different level. UGH!
