Is the lunch filet the same as the dinner filet at Le Cellier?
I see the lunch filet is at a lower price.

From previous years, I heard it was a smaller filet at lunch.

Now that the restaurant is Signature at dinner, I've heard that the meat is different. Something about the meat coming from Canada vs Austraila.

I'm trying out the lunch this year.

Per many reports, the filet at lunch is somewhat smaller.

Since the menu change on March 1, the dinner filet is now $41, while at lunch it is $26.99, a difference of about $14. I can't imagine the dinner one being worth $14 more if the only difference is a couple of bites in size. Not sure about whether the beef quality appreciably changes between lunch and dinner.

While I'm a fan of Le Cellier's new dinner, I haven't ordered the filet. I can't imagine it being worth $14 more. I certainly enjoyed the appetizers, sides, seafood entrees, and duck though.

I remember that, before the change to Signature dining, the filet at lunch was 5 ounces, compared to 7 at dinner. I believe the dinner filet is now 8 ounces, while undoubtedly the lunch filet is still 5.

That's interesting. The dinner filet is $41, meaning it's $5.13 per ounce of meat. The lunch filet is $27, meaning it's $5.40 per ounce of meat. That's ignoring the risotto, which is probably a similar portion, but meat-for-meat dinner is a better value OOP (even ignoring the supposed quality increase).

I had the filet last week. 5 ounces seems right. It came out undercooked and when I sent it back, I didn't see it again for 20 minutes. My husband finished his filet before mine even came back. Never again.

I'm thinking that the extra $14 for the mushroom fillet is a very small price to pay for having Canadian AAA beef as opposed to it's equivalent USDA Choice, or Australian, or wherever WDW got the beef. I say, drop the extra 14 clams and enjoy that Canadian beef. And while your at it, drop another 9 clams for a bowl of the cheese soup. :rotfl2: :lmao:

The dinner portion is a better value when comparing the quantity of beef relative to the price. And it's very likely that the cheese soup's price was raised to compensate for some of the other more expensive ingredients.

Seriously, I don't see any reason to make a comment like this. LC is no more overpriced than many of Disney's pathetic excuses for restaurants, which I'm sure you've enjoyed many times.

It's called being facetious and an attempt at humor, perhaps not the funniest humor, but humor never the less. Sorry you failed to see that. I truly don't want to get into a battle of wits with you, nor will I. I appreciate that you are very passionate about the new menu and your recent experiences with LC; I will admit, I enjoy reading many of your posts, and you do have some well thought out ideas and make some valid points. And while I will agree with you that Disney does have some pathetic excuses for restaurants ( I don't include LC in that) I do believe that with LC going signature it is one of the more overpriced restaurants. :confused3
