LCD screens in cars....

So, we're driving down the highway and we see a car in front of us with 4 screens (it's night and the screens are on so you can't miss them). We get closer and the screens are in the headrests of the seats. This car is a standard 4 door sedan and the two screens on the headrests of the backseatsare just pointing right out the back window. What is the purpose of this configuration? No passenger in the car is able to see the screens.

Yeah, that sounds pretty stoopid.

The only use I could think of would be if the headrests were used while partying outside of the car.

Could you tell if they were mounted in the headrests??? Maybe the have them so who ever is driving behind them can watch? That is really weird.

Wow, that sounds odd.
I usually see them on the back of the driver seat.
It seems I am always behind someone watching Spongebob and it distracts me from my driving so I start watching it.

My guess is that the image of the screen in the back headrests were reflections of the screens from the front headrests.

Sounds like someone who wanted to pimp out their car so that their peers would consider them to be cool (or tight or whatever the modern term is).

In the early days of video screens in cars, it was common to see people add them not to watch but to display. There were problems early on with people showing extremely inappropriate videos on them.

Agreed, that's probably what it is.

Kids these days do all kinds of things to their cars that don't make any practical sense
