Lays reduced the size of the chips.

Specialty chips are usually a smaller amount. You aren't comparing two of the same thing.

If you are buying the small bags you are paying "more" anyway, go with the bigger ones.

Smaller is better for me. It means I’ll eat fewer chips when I “accidentally” eat the entire bag.
Buy just a few small packages and also som "bag clips" that most grocery stores sell. Then buy just large packages if they cost less per ounce or less per pound. Save the empty small bags and keep them in the fridge.
When you open a large bag, empty some of the chips into a small bag to take with you to work, to the ball game, or wherever. Use the bag clip to keep the rest of the chips fresh.

That would require discipline and self-control. I have neither around potato chips. :rotfl:

Actually at my store it depends on the sales which are constantly changing. Sometimes the big one is better, sometimes multiple small ones are better when it’s a “buy 2 or 3 and get each for $X” deal. I do as much math in the chip aisle as I do in the paper aisle 🤣

What is S and V? Have they not been 8 oz before? If I am wrong on here then I am, but I thought they used to be 8 oz.
Salt & Vinegar (the ones pictured in the original post). Have no clue, not a flavor I eat nor something I pay attention to.

I am pretty sure some flavors are different weights. I have noticed this in other things.

Right, I am so used to this happening with other brands, products, ect. I just knew that they had lessened the amount. Still not sure though.
