My daughter and I booked our flights through AAA using Delta a couple months ago for our trip this December. Our layover is in Atlanta. The layover is long both ways - over two hours the way there, and over three hours on the way home. My daughter is 7.

I hate the long layover, but our flights were about $212 a person, which is reasonable out of Allentown. Of course Delta is now offering a better price ($179 a person) with layovers of just over an hour each way. My tickets are non-refundable - so I think it will cost about $100 to change our flights.

I would much rather have the shorter layover, but last year we had a delay leaving Allentown and almost missed our plane in Atlanta - they were announcing final boarding when we reached our gate.

Do I change it, or leave things alone? Also, does anyone know if they are changing flights as often as they were last year? Last year Delta changed our flight twice before our trip.

I would leave it alone. You could have bad weather in December, delaying your flight out of Allentown. Keep watching the flights. I have flights on Delta in early December and they have changed. I was originally supposed to fly PIT-JFK-MCO but really wanted PIT-ATL-MCO but they did not have any 25,000 mile award tickets. My original flights changed so that I would arrive at JFK the same time as the MCO flight left. So I called and was able to switch to an ATL connection that will get us there 2 hours earlier!
