LAX to port car rental

I tried posting on the TRANSPORTATION board, but I thought I'd try here.

What are my options for renting a car from LAX and driving to the port ( Disney cruise).
Budget will not allow a rental from LAX to LG2, which, from their map appears to closest to the port.

Any other options? What has everyone else done?

Right now it's looking like renting a car from LAX to have for a day, returning it to LAX the next morning and hiring a car service/ van from the airport to take us to the port.

Would love to just rent a car for a day or two and drop it off at the port like we do in port canaveral.

I don't know if you ever got an answer to this, but I believe Enterprise is the only car rental company with a return site right near the San Pedro port.

The above PP is right- Enterprise has a San Pedro port. However when I called, my rates were outrageous. Same with if I rented it at LAX and returned it to LGB or SNA. So we are renting a car (with an Entertainment coupon so it was cheap from Enterprise in and out of LAX. We are doing DL and American Girl place and a cpl other things so we needed the car. We are then taking the DCL bus from the airport, which starts running at 9:45 until 1:30 pm (I emailed to ask times).

DEFINITELY the best deal going on is shuttle2LAX.com. Check out the website, but basically it is $20 for the first person and $11 for additional people from LAX to pretty much anywhere (including the port). And then same price back to LAX.

Much easier than renting a car, I think.
