We land at LAX at 10:40am, we are going to be renting a car. Is there any chance we could make a 1:30 storytellers reservation?

I personally would not be comfortable with cutting it that close. The rental car lots are all off site at LAX - outside the baggage claims area you need to board the shuttle for your particular rental company in the area indicated by the purple "Rental Car Shuttle" signs. Between landing, getting luggage, getting the shuttle and then picking up your car you can look at a good solid hour before you are on the road and headed for Anaheim. Then the drive even in light traffic will take you at least 45 minutes. That is if everything is on time. So that could see you in Anaheim by 12:30. We have landed at just after 12PM before and been in Anaheim at our hotel well before 2 but we never count on it.

My recommendation for car rental is to subscribe to whatever frequent customer plan the rental agency offers - all of them have some form you can join which is normally free of charge. That can facilitate pick up of your vehicle and save you a lot of time. We use the FastBreak service with Budget and they drop you off, you check the screen to see where your vehicle is located, you get in and drive to the exit where they verify credit card and drivers license information and off you go! Otherwise you can be waiting in a long line to see an agent.

Car is booked through Costco, I can’t remember which one. Guess something to look at.

Had thought it might not be doable but thought it would be a fun meal that day since no parks and we weren’t impressed with goofys dinner.

You might or might not make it. But why start off a "vacation" by stressing yourself out like that?

If it were me, I’d definitely go for it. You’ve got nearly three hours to make it. That should be more than enough time. I’d be surprised if it took as much as two hours. I’ve picked up cars at LAX before and it’s reasonably speedy. Just be sure to be the first off of the shuttle bus into the rental car office :-).

You will be unnecessarily rushed. If it was a non park day I would arrive more relaxed then book a table service dinner at one of the resort to DTD restaurants.

I agree with the above advice about not stressing yourself with a reservation you might not make. But, keep checking the app on the drive to Anaheim. If you see a reservation available when you arrive at your hotel, and you know you could easily (not under pressure!) make that time, then take it. The app makes things much easier when you want to play things by ear.
