Which would you choose...

the DLR Express/Airport Shuttle for $81

or

Car rental at $60 (that includes the extra $10 for a car seat) but have the hassle of filling the tank, parking, navigation, stuff like that.

That's a tough one. We're from Lake Forest Park, have three kids (7,4,4), and have been married a year longer. So I think I can empathize fairly well. :)

I don't how long you're staying. We're going a week before you and staying seven days. I definitely didn't want to do LAX, so we did SNA. We're taking a cab, but I checked into a limo because I heard it was only slightly more. But the limo companies seemed a little shady and I was looking for piece of mind. The shuttle was out because it was more expensive for 5.

The nice thing about the car rental is that you control the action and the pace. We'll have access to a car because my sister is also going to DL from Vegas. That's good because we want to go to Costco for water, snacks, etc. There is also the Disney Character Warehouse store which is a lot cheaper (so I've heard) than anything at DLR. So the car might help you there if you have the time. So the car could save you a little more possibly.

On the other hand, who wants to drive in LA traffic, especially when you come from Washington where people are courteous and sane. :thumbsup2

Like I said, it's a tough call. Good Luck. :)

consider you may have to pay additional for parking wherever you go, including the hotel.

I can't beleive how many Washingtonians are on this board, so cool! :cheer2:

Good advice, thank you.

We are flying into LAX beacause I had to buy plane tickets last minute (like yesterday-long story). I would have much rather flown into SNA. I agree with you about the Limo thing, they do seem kind of shady. I decided to do the car rental since we will be arriving at 10:30pm on Sat 4/5. Where is the nearest Costco? I would love to run over there...we also thought about going into Hollywood or to the beach.
We were already have a car rental for 4/12-4/13 as we are going to go to Legoland and then to drive ourselves to LAX (we have to be there at 5:30am). You are so right about the driving in LA thing! :rotfl2:

I'm glad you got it all worked out. Costco (and the Character Warehouse) is about 3 miles north on Harbor. It's near the Orangefair Mall at roughly Harbor & Orangethorpe.

Costco: 900 S Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92832
Character Warehouse: 243 Orangefair Mall, Fullerton, CA 92832

Have fun!
:)
