LAX or SNA?

Just wondering what the convention wisdom is -- go with SNA for the convenience of the proximity to DLR, or LAX for better options of airlines and direct flights? Flying out from Boston, and wondering if, in the long run, SNA is the better bet. (Flying in on a Fri or Sat in early Nov, leaving mid-day on a Wed -- I know traffic is an important consideration.)

Thanks for any insights!

BTW, I will be taking cabs from airport to Anaheim Hilton, so car rental isn't a concern.

I'd go with SNA for convenience and ease of returning to airport on departure day.
What is the flight/layover time difference with SNA vs LAX? If it was a considerable amount, I might change my mind and go for a direct flight.

I prefer SNA over LAX. SNA is smaller and closer. It's really easy to walk through the airport with the kids and very easy to find your gate. The only time we chose LAX over SNA was because the flight left at a better time. For us, the price is often the same or negligible, but if you find it's cheaper to fly into LAX, you also need to consider that the cab ride is going to cost more. And when comparing airlines, make sure you consider whether or not they charge for checked baggage.

We have done both SNA and LAX from Chicago o,hare.

Lax is cheaper by almost $100 when we are leaving end of sept
But SNA is way more convenient travel-wise.

We want to spend as much time as possible in the parks, so it's SNA for us.

AWESOME -- thanks for the input, everyone! Looks like SNA will be the best bet.

LAX is not all that far from DLR.
No trip to LA is complete without watching planes land at LAX from the In-N-Out burger.

I always choose Non-Stop flights if possible. Not sure if there are non-stops from Boston to SNA. Go with LAX if that is the only option for non-stops. Nothing worse than transferring and missing your flights due to delays.

Just throwing this out there because I beleive JetBlue flies out of Boston, check JetBlue to Long Beach! It's a very small and convienient airport. We always fly from the Bay Area to LB!

If you can find an airline that has a direct flight to SNA for a comparable price to LAX, then I would say go for it. If it's not going to be a direct flight, and it's going to cost $200+ more to fly into SNA, then I would suggest flying into LAX over SNA. I personally love SNA over LAX, and I have flown into both. For me my airline of choice fly's into both for the same price, so I've chosen SNA for my Nov/13 trip.
