Someone posted a ? about a shoe tree at the dock - got me wondering about that ol' lawnmower tree near the Settlement! Can you still see much of it these days?....been 10 years since I was at the Fort (HORRORS! ) so I was just wondering how it's faring these days!

My boyfriend and I were just at FW for the first time. We saw the sign and knew there was supposed to be some tree with a lawnmower in it, but couldn't find one anywhere. I guess it's well hidden...

You can still see it but like bigdisneydaddy said it is getter harder. The tree is growing over it.

I was just there last week. We actually took a good look at the lawnmower tree. In the past few years, it has gotten harder and harder to see the lawnmower pieces, but I would swear that there has been some tampering with this tree, because there are now some pretty big lawnmower pieces sticking out. More than I remember from the last time I saw it.

The tree is located on your left as you walk toward the Marina. If you have never found it, walk all the way to your left on the walkway toward the Marina. Right after you pass the play ground area, you will come upon a parking area for golf carts. It is marked off by a split rail wooden fence. The lawnmower tree is a pine tree located right at the corner of the first golf cart parking space. Look down toward the base of the tree, and you will see pieces of an old push mower that the tree has grown around. There is a sign there giving a little story about what allegedly happened.
