Day Three - Epcot (Easter Sunday)
Me - Laur's - 27
DH - Andy - 27
We were up by 8.30am this morning and our regular Disney routine kicked in. Andy goes down to get some breakfast and fill the mugs up while I get myself sorted to go out (and watch cartoons, hehe!) We had cereal for breakfast (Froot Loops for me, more face pulling from Andy, and Corn pops for him), croissants and bananas.
We arrived at Epcot around 10 am and headed straight to Soarin' to get FPs. I think they were for around 4.30/5 pm! We heard a guy in front of us say that yesterday the FPs had all gone by noon. After securing our FPs, we backtracked to Guest Services. We had the Around the World segway tour booked for Wednesday and had forgotten to bring with us the notes that Andy had written down when he called up to book it. Luckily the CM found our booking, told us what time to meet there on Wednesday and that we didn't need a reference number. We had also been told by the receptionist in the Pop to go in and tell them it was our wedding anniversary. We were given really cute magical wishes badges, which I proudly displayed and Andy rather more discreetly!
The park was so busy (we noticed this with Epcot each time we visited on this trip, and it was the same last year) so we decided to go on Ellen's Energy Adventure. It was also a long time since we had done this, and couldn't remember much of it. We both love Ellen, so giggled through this.
Got some lunch around 12.30 pm at the Electric Umbrella. I love the food in this place, the only problem is the tune that they play repeatedly in there! I think they do it on purpose to keep people moving and free up tables! We shared a turkey wrap, pineapple coleslaw (yum), fries and a diet coke.
After lunch we decided to move over to World Showcase, and went on El Rio del Tiempo and Maelstrom. Andy had bought me the Hidden Mickeys book for Christmas and I found this a great way to pass the time waiting in line. Pleased with myself as we managed to spot both of the rather trickey Mickeys in the Maelstrom loading area mural.
We back tracked to Mexico so I could get a frozen strawberry margarita. Felt very decadent wandering round in the afternoon drinking that. Andy doesn't get one as he claims he doesn't like them - and proceeds to drink half of mine.
As we're finishing the margarita, we spot some characters out and about that we haven't seen before. I have my picture taken with Snow White who is stood with some topiary dwarfs. She is lovely and asks me if Andy is my prince. I tell her he certainly is. Andy says afterwards that I should have told her he was just some random bloke I got to take my picture!
I also have my picture taken with Belle who calls me a princess (aww) and we both have our picture with Princess Aurora as the CM with her presses Andy into it!
We are wandering round to the America shop and see a queue for pictures with Mickey and Minnie in their Easter outfits. We have to get a pic, especially as Minnie is Andy's favourite. The queue moves surprisingly quickly, and we have our picture.
We wander round to England and Andy gets a beer (well, he didn't have a drink before, did he?!) and we visit the English toy shop to look for Winnie the Pooh. It is already two days into the holiday and I haven't had my picture with him yet - I am getting twitchy! Sadly, no Winnie the Pooh, but I did manage to take Mary Poppins by surprise and get my picture with her.
As we get to Canada we spot Kenai and Koda. I am really excited about this as I've been wanting to get a picture with Koda for ages. They are really funny and both try to cuddle me at the same time.
It has come round to the time for our Soarin' fast pass, and we don't wait very long to get on the ride. I think we were in the second row. This was amazing as always.
We were ready for some tea by this point, so we headed back round the World Showcase to my very favourite place to eat in Epcot, Yakitori House. I had "my usual" which is Japanese beef curry (sooooo good) and an apple juice and Andy had Teriyaki Chicken and orange juice. Afterwards we went to the Japan shop which I adore because it is Hello Kitty heaven! I try to pick what I am going to buy when we come back on Wednesday - and what I'm going to buy if we've won the lottery!
Back to Future World after this to ride Test Track. I have in my notes that we got a FP for this, but I don't remember when. I have to think it was after lunch because I don't think we'd have got one otherwise. Even with FP, we had to wait 20 minutes to get on. This is Andy's favourite ride in Epcot. Due to my wuss tendencies I always worry about going on this beforehand, but always enjoy it in the end.
We decide to do Spaceship Earth on the way out of the park. I love this, find it so relaxing and it's another great one for giving aching feet a rest. On the way out, we notice that they are building something as you come off the ride - the same place where they used to have an exhibit, a few years ago, can't remember what it was called but I think it was a mock up of a city.
We headed back to the Pop and returned to a lovely surprise. On the bed we had a signed photo card from Cinderella and Prince Charming, which said Happy 6th Wedding Anniversary, a dream is a wish your heart makes. There were three balloons attached with a Mickey weight - a plain one, a princess one and, bizarrely, a happy birthday one (I guess they had run out!) It was so touching, I think there were almost tears! The phone was also flashing with a message - Mickey and Minnie singing happy anniversary to us!
We showered and then headed out to Downtown Disney to have a look round the shops. I was disappointed to see that the Winnie the Pooh shop had closed, but I was still able to get a limited edition 80th birthday Winnie the Pooh. I have number 1026 out of 1200. He is so cute, and as I have, well, everything, Winnie the Pooh, I neeeeeded one! We also went to the Christmas shop as it is a tradition of ours to buy something for our Christmas tree every time we visit. We got a Donald and Daisy ornament, they are dressed in old fashioned clothes and it's really beautiful. I also got a Peter Pan chocolate toffee bar (mmm, this was really nice).
Got back to the Pop around 11.30 pm, time for the usual beer for Andy, frozen Pina Colada and chocolate for me, and then off to bed for Disney dreaming.
