Laundry Service Cost? (Poly)

Hello everyone!

We are planning our first trip to WDW ever 7/13 - 7/18 and staying at the Polynesian. I have an 11 yo DS and 5 yo twins, and have heard about the laundry service. I'd like to be able to use this and hopefully pack a little less. How does it work and most importantly, how much does it cost?

There are washers and dryers for $2 per load in the buildings. The laundry service is not like wash-dry-fold at the Laundromat...it is more like drycleaning service. Prices vary from $3 and up per item...Boxers and socks starting around $3...wedding dresses being several million dollars. Pants and shirts are more than my local dry cleaner. Estimate double.

I did laundry 1/2 way through our trip. We went to the pool to relax and swim while it was washing and drying. It only took a little over 1 hr. the wash and dry cycles were 30 min. All of our clothes were dry after 30 min. in the dryer. It was very relaxing and it didn't seem like a "chore". It was nice having fresh clean clothes for the remainder of our stay. There are change machines and detergent machines in the laundry room.

We do this every time - it makes packing a breeze, we can usually carry-on, and with the airlines starting to charge for checked bags, it's a no-brainer!
