I was on allears earlier looking at their photos of the fort and read their resort facts on FW. It said that laundry service was available to those at the campsites. You would have to request a bag and they would pick it up that day and drop it off that night. I will have to do laundry at least once while we are there, but if it isn't too costly, I might just let someone else do our laundry for us. :laundy:

Has anyone ever used this service? If so, how much did it cost?

Honestly, I have neither heard of this service nor seen anyone with bags of laundry waiting for pickup. Allears is not always the best or most up to date resource.

I've never heard of this service either. We just use the washers and dryers in the comfort station. We stay for about 2 weeks so we usually do laundry a couple of times a week.:smickey:

If memory serves me correctly it is available at the Cabins, so that is where the confusion might be.

Hey if you will reserve us a campsite, and pay for it, we will come down and take care of that pesky laundry and may even cook a meal or two for you! :lmao:

The last time I stayed there, we ended up with a big mess on our hands. I went to the front desk to see what options I had, and well thr girl promised more than what could be delivered. But apparently they only have one small washer/dryer backstage. So i don't think laundry service is something they provide.

but there are laundry facilities at each comfort station. And it's about 2 dollars a load. The dryers are gas, so if you're not ued to them, you can usually fill a little more than one wash load and still get everything dry.
As I have learned the hard way, there is no laundry mat any where near property and the time/gas spent is more of a waste than using the machines there. And you can use them any time of the day.

Oh well, it was a nice thought at least. I will make sure that I bring my quarters with me.

Brings bags or boxes of quarters. The washers, dryers, and ice machines all eat them like candy. Except you can get ice at the trading posts and pay with folding money or plastic.

By the way, has anyone else experienced less ice in the bags from the ice machines lately? In the past the bag would fill to overflowing. Last trip it filled to 5-6 inches from the top. And what does ice cost at the trading post? I needed ice and paid with plastic, so I never even looked.

I've had pretty good luck using the change machines in the laundry rooms, but they don't work 100% of the time.

Interesting!! In November they were still shelling out way more ice than fit in the bags provided. I could usually fill almost another half bag with what the machine spit out.
