What is up with doing your laundry at the resorts? We have always done this and usually see 1 or 2 other people, on our recent stay at poly & bc. what a crowd! The poly there was almost 2 fight's about who got there 1st and took machines, at the bc it was so crowded we gave up and bought some clean stuff! I toyed with the idea of setting the clock to 3am and doing it than! Thought maybe with the luggage on air craft restrictions people are bringing less and washing or with the cruises and restrictions on luggage people are washing? Disney needs to address this problem, we checked on the resort doing it for you and my stuff alone would of been over $200.00! So this really is not an option. Rode around 192 etc... and never found a coin laundry mat. Hmmm maybe a good business opprotunity or a reason to move to orlando? Anyone else run into this? MKY

We were able to do laundry at the Dolphin with no problem in April. We did it around 2 in the afternoon. A few years ago it was a nightmare trying to do laundry at the ASSp. There were football teams there and they were washing uniforms. I finally got up at 5am to do it. Even then I was lucky to get 3 machines.

I don't know what's up b/c I've always done laundry at wdw.

I think the Beach Club has two laundries (one at the quiet pool and one on the first floor wing) -- did you try both? I had no problem getting mine done at the Yacht Club last month -- just used the small laundry everyone forgets about. Maybe I just got lucky.

I've not stayed at All Stars, but I can tell you that the moderates are set up much better for laundry than the deluxe resorts.

Never a problem at moderates doing laundry. Did mine in July at CBR at 3:00 in the afternoonn and I was the only one. Very convenient too right next to the quiet pools.

When I was at the ASMO last year I went to wash our beach towels, it was like about 3 in the afternoon and it was packed there. I had to come back at night to do the laundry and then there was nobody there!:)

I did laundry at BWI mid-afternoon and had the place to myself! At $8 (in total) I only did one load of jeans and sweatshirts but it was still cheaper than buying new sweatshirts for us all (it was cooler than we had expected that week).

In June I did laundry in the south garden wing on a week-day mid-morning with no waits and only one other person even using a machine. I did it again on a weekend late afternoon or early evening at the AKL, again with no waits whatsoever, though there were a few more people around.

We also found the laundry at the Poly to be crowded last Aug. when we went. We did laundry in the am and there was a wait for washers and dryers. People get very terretorial!! There were people doing their laundry and while it was still in the washer they were holding onto the dryers. We found it better to do the laundry during our mid-day break. Less crowded.

I have found the best times to do laundry is around 10-11pm at nite. Big pet peeves of mine:

1) If you leave your laundry and it finishes, I am going to remove your clothes to free up that machine. I will do it carefully and pile them up where they can't fall on the floor. Don't overreact when you return, don't yell that someone touched your clothes. Too bad, if you are that neurotic, stay and watch them at all times.

2) Do not do your laundry the day before you are going home. Save it for home. I love packing my dirty clothes because I don't have to be careful about folding and packing, so much easier and faster. And I would rather do my laundry at home where it is more convenient and I can do it correctly.
