Laundry Payment Question

Due to a bad experience, I am very careful where I use my credit card. Does anybody know from personal experience if I can use either a WDW gift card or prepaid credit card to pay for laundry at the resort?

I don't think a WDW gift card would work, I assume a prepaid card would as long as it had the MC or Visa logo. However, there were at least 2 washers and 2 dryers in the laundry room that still took quarters when we were down in June.

I believe the laundry rooms are contracted out to a separate company (at least at the Swan and Dolphin they are), so for sure they won't take a Disney gift card. They take Visa and Mastercard, as 2DisPrincesses says. I'm not sure if they take prepaid cards, but I had no issues last March at the BWI using my Mastercard.

I didn't see any option for quarters at the BWI. Maybe I didn't look though - but did laundry 3 times I think.

Slightly off topic - where are the laundry facilities at the Boardwalk Inn located? Any suggestions on least crowded times to go? Really hope that there are a few washers/dryers that take quarters, since I've already got a roll of them!

The value resorts only take quarters and you can get change from the machine in the rooms (or from the hotel front desk). Moderates do not take change and it's cards only. never used the facilities in a deluxe. I don't see why a prepaid card or visa/mastercard/amex gift card wouldn't work, it's a normal credit card swipe setup.

At the BWI I think it was on the 4th floor. I've used it many times, and never have I even seen another person in the room! One trip we stayed in the room right next to the laundry room at the BWI, so every morning I'd make my coffee and do a load while the rest of the family slept in! In my pj's! Never saw anyone else in there.
They only take Visa and Mastercard, no American Express, no quarters. So I think a prepaid Visa or Mastercard may work.
I know the values are switching to the credit card machines; not sure if they are done yet. It is more convenient than carrying cash. Plus, the dryers give you a few options for drying time,

That is incorrect. I did laundry at POP in April at the computer pool. They had a few coin machines still available but most were credit card only.

Thank you, HappyMommy for the updated info on the BWI laundry. Now I know it will be smarter to leave most of my quarters home (will take some for the toll on the turnpike from the airport to Disney though, since we'll be renting a car). Will also be sure to bring my Disney Visa card with me when I do laundry. I, too, find myself getting up much earlier in the mornings when at WDW, so an early morning run to the laundry would be great! It's only me and DH this trip, but we are staying 9 nights, so I'd like to pack a little less and just wash some stuff half-way through the trip.

You're welcome! I like to get up early too, so drinking coffee while doing a load or two works! I'd read my email or play a game on my phone or whatever while other(s) sleep!
I like to pack less too (but need to work on that - once I start I get carried away!) and bring home clean clothes sometimes as well.

That's new then, in october it was still coin. Thanks for the update.

Can anyone give a current update on this? Specifically the All Star Values? Thanks!
