More on a popular topic!

We are doing a 4 day land, 3 day sea, with me, DH, DS (5 ) & DS (18 mos). My guys are sweaty and messy, and will probably need at least two outfits/day for the land part.

We are thinking of packing a suitcase for the land, and one for the cruise, and sending the first suitcase of dirty clothes back home early, or lugging it along for the whole trip Option #2 is to pack lighter and do laundry.

Opinions??? Other options?

ps. I HATE overpacking!!

I usually do the laundry either at my WDW Resort or on board the ship itself. I hate dragging dirty clothes around, lol. I would rather wash, fold and pack them up instead of bringing them home dirty. Just plan to do laundry at an off peak time on the ship so you avoid the crowds, and good luck!

Im one of those people who is totally against doing laundry on vacation. The most Ive ever done was to throw my sneakers in a dryer when they got wet in a rain storm...and even then, it was DH who did it for me. ;)
If you do lug the suitcase of dirty laundry with you, there is plenty of storage room in the staterooms, so dont worry about that. We did the land/sea pkg with 2 adults, and 8 month old and a 3.5 yr old in a cat 11 room, and it worked well. Remember, you need very little clothes for the sea portion(you live in bathingsuits). I really overpacked on that.
I guess it just comes down to a personal choice whether you would rather do a little work on vacation and have it easier when you get home to avoid the reality shock, or do no work while on vacation, and then have to pay for it at home. Good luck & enjoy!

We're doing the cruise first, then 3 nights at WDW and after reading several tips on this board about not overpacking, we plan to do all our laundry at the end of the cruise and pack it fresh for WDW, wearing the same things again, since we won't be around any of the same people.

whatever you decide, do not wait until the last evening to do your laundry. We walked by the laundry rooms Friday night and it was a mess, some folks were even being rude and pushy.

After trying it both ways, I found that packing light and doing a little laundry was very liberating - ESPECIALLY as you have little ones who probably require extra "stuff" to carry around anyway. I've done laundry both on the vessel and at the Poly (our favorite) and would much rather do this then lug extra bags around.

We just did 4 day land/4 day wonder(we added a day to the land), and did laundry our last night at the poly, then again the 2nd afternoon on the cruise. Don't try to do laundry too late in the afternoon, about 3:30 - 4:00 everyone is trying to do laundry, and iron clothes before dinner. It was crazy!! Start you laundry early, then keep checking on it, we left ours, and had no problems at all. The laundry got busy at the poly about 4-5pm too.
Have a great trip!

We did the four day land and three day sea last summer. We used way more clothes on the land portion and did laundry at the hotel several times. The laundry rooms at the hotels have got to be bigger and just more convenient to use than the ones on the ship. The three day cruise is just tooo short to spend any time doing laundry!!!! My advice, do wash the last night before the cruise, set aside one outfit [or two for the little one] for the trip home and just enjoy the cruise. We really did live in our bathing suits and coverups.

Plus I met some families in the hotel laundry room also going on the same cruise, it gave me some folks to at least say hi to on the cruise.

what is the best day and time to do laundry
on the 7-day cruise. I know I will need to do
laundry but don't want to wait in a line......
thanks for any info.

I never had any problems with finding open machines when I went early in the day - between 8:30am and 10:30am. I can't speak for port days as I did laundry on days at sea.
