Hello there. I have just paid off my Disney Magic cruise in Dec 2023 for the 14 day Panama Canal sailing. I am very excited about this trip since the Panama Canal is one of my bucket list items. I will be traveling alone and this will be my first time cruising on Disney (but 2nd cruise in my life).

Since this is a 14 day sailing, I plan to do laundry once on the ship. I know that there are self service laundry facilities on all Disney ships. I have looked up videos on YouTube about the laundry facilities on the Magic. It seems like the washer and dryers are stacked on top of each other in rows. My concern is that I am barely 4 ft tall so there could be some issues with me reaching the dryer comfortably to load and unload clothes. When I lived in an apartment building, I always brought a small stepstool to deal with that issue, but not sure how it is for someone who is on the shorter side to deal with that issue with self service laundry on a cruise ship.

TIA for advice

I washed swim suits on the Magic in May. They are very much stacked - washer on the bottom, dryer on top. On Deck 2, there's also a folding table across from them, so there isn't a lot of extra room. I've seen little mini folding step-stools on Amazon, so that might be an idea. I don't know if you could pull the table closer and use that as an assist up.

I believe that each ship has at least one laundry facility that is accessible -and will have a dryer on the bottom level or stand alone. I know for sure on the Fantasy and pretty sure all the ships have at one accessible laundry facility.

I know on the Wonder it is the one on Deck 6 and I think the Magic is the same. It even has a ramped entrance.

On the Magic, the laundry room on deck 6 includes one dryer on the floor,. All of the washers also sit on the floor, but the other dryers are above washers.

Where is the laundry room on Magic deck 6? I’ve looked at deck plans and don’t see them marked, but we’ll be in 6574 across from an unlabeled area, so wondering if we’ll have laundry room traffic there!

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If no one is around, look for a Cast Member (crew). There’s a phone in the laundry. Call Housekeeping if necessary.

I find people very helpful. And have learned to ask (a lot of times, people volunteer. Some do things begrudgingly. But they typically don’t make eye contact). There are a lot of parents on cruises; they often understand helping.

Cruisers are generally friendly and sociable.

14 nights and one laundry trip? Amazing! I went twice in an 8 night cruise. ☺️

I did the PC solo, too. Have a great time.

I know that area well. Laundry room is just down the hall toward the aft end of the ship (to the left as you exit your stateroom), opposite 6588. We stayed in 6576 for our first cruise on the Magic. Now we routinely book closer to the midship elevators on either port or starboard side, whichever is available. We'll be in 6562 sailing the WBPC in October.

I'll be on the same cruise with my family! We're so excited! I also plan on doing laundry, and have on previous cruises. In my experience, there is at least one laundry room on the magic with a dryer at floor level. I have found on these longer cruises the laundry room is busy every day! Some folks traveled extensively before and start needing laundry, others need it as the cruise progresses and others want to get off the ship with clean clothes for travel post cruise or just unpacking sake. The day I do laundry I just go first thing in the morning and have no issues.

Been on the wonder and use the dryer facilities, washer, facilities and yes, there are some ground level ones but again the magic could be different.
We are going on the first leg of your trip you could say we are on the October Panama Canal cruise and so we will definitely be doing laundry and so I’ll be reporting back
