Hi all, we are doing a split stay, and the day we switch will be our pool day, so I figure that's a good time to get some laundry done of we need to. For those who have stayed at both, which would be easier? Here is our general plan (it's a Saturday if it matters): sleep in a little, pack up and throw everything in rental car with suits in beach bag, ohana for breakfast at 9:30 (guessing we won't be back to CSR till 11, which is why we will be packed up), CSR pool from 11-2 ish (should give me time to do a load) then transfer over to AKL, if we have our room great, if not, no problem, we just plan on hitting the pool. Pool time till 5ish (which is another laundry window) get cleaned up to go to DTD and 6 pm Trex ressie. Not sure the will stay at DTD long after dinner... Expect to be back to resort and in bed at 9.

Thoughts?

Haven't stayed at CSR but stayed at AKL last year. There is a laundry room right next to the pool which is very convenient. We did ours in a couple of hours one morning before checkout while the kids were swimming. Mara is also right there if you are hungry. Enjoy!

Thanks! Glad to know there is easy access!

Your move day plan to me sounds a bit tight.

If it were me, I'd pack up and head over to the AKL. Have breakfast at the Mara and throw laundry in, then relax by the pool.

If your room isn't ready, bell services can hold your other luggage for you and text you when it's ready.

I think your breakfast plan and laundry plan otherwise may work, but you may run later than you think. I'd rather get packed up and check out, so you don't have to worry about being back in time to check out.

Or do your breakfast, but check out first and keep your stuff in the car until you arrive at AKL.

I do like the location of the laundry room at AKL also. It's right next to the Mara and by the pool. It's convenient for a pool day (or half day).

On our pool days I had planned on sleeping in but I never did! I was up at 6 so while everyone else was sleeping I put on my bathing suit and cover up and did laundry. It was dry and folded before they woke up.

On the day we left WDW, again I was up at the crack of the morning. I did laundry but my dh packed it because he wanted me to get a table at the pool...so yep, I was at the poly pool by 8.

So if you are up just do the laundry. I'd rather pack clean laundry then sweaty stinky laundry.

Unless there's a reason you'd like to do two pools, I would recommend changing it. If you will be packed up before breakfast anyway, after Ohana you could go right to AK. They will hold your luggage and you can start to enjoy the beautiful resort. There is plenty to see and do and the laundry is right near the pool. There is a back staircase so you don't have to haul it all through the lobby and restaurant areas. There is also a bath/changing area near the pool. That way you can get it done all at once…?

I highly recommend packing up and leaving CSR in the morning. Sleep in, pack, leave for breakfast. Drive over and check-in at AKL, they can store your luggage, you can swim and do laundry while you're waiting for your room to be ready. We do split stays all the time. :goodvibes

Thinking about it more... I think I would leave CSR around 8:00, check-in at AKL, then drive to breakfast at Ohana, then head back to AKL for swimming and laundry while you wait for your room.

Did you ever consider Boma breakfast? That would be more convenient.

We won't have another pool day, and dd really really wants to do the CSR pool.... Which is why both pools... We will be out of our room when we head for breakfast (9:30 adr), and I know that even though we are out of our room we can use the facilities for the rest of the day, which is why we plan on coming back to swim.

I do have Boma on another day :)

I doubt I will be up early ever... We are west coasters... So even 8 am is going to be brutal for us. But if I am up, I can start laundry early... Thinking if I do laundry at CSR that it may be quieter (less waiting) since it will be early?

The laundry and the breakfast make me uncomfortable. If you really want breakfast there, what about taking advantage of the time difference and do laundry the night before?

If thats the case, try to get all of your laundry done at one of the resorts. Mama is on vacation too! Pick one and enjoy the pool with your daughter at the other one :thumbsup2

That is the plan... Was just trying to figure out which is the easier one to get laundry done at... I'm only doing 1 load, we normally do 10-12 day vacations without doing any laundry, but I figure if I can get 1 load of shorts and capris done, I won't have to pack as many of those, as they take up the most room.

How so? I will have a bag in the car of what I want to wash... We'll get up and head for breakfast (we are not dawdlers in the morning, and everyone will be zonked out till the alarm goes off... I figure 8:15 wake up, out the door at 8:45, adr at 9:30, and I figure 90 minutes for breakfast right? Back at CSR a little after 11.). The dh and dd can get changed and hit the pool and I will throw a load in... My machine at home is an hour to wash and 45 to dry... So I am guessing it will be similar? I thought I could get a load done between 11:30ish and 2 easily. Then we will throw on cover ups and head to AKL... Check in, and head back out to the pool... So if it really sounds like to much in the morning, I could save that bag of laundry and do it at AKL between 2:30ish and 5 when we'll need to get ready for dinner... Make sense?

As far as doing laundry the night before again, it could happen, but not likely... I am just going by our DLR trips... We will be up at 7 the day before to eat and to make rope drop and probably not back in the room till nearly 10 pm at which time I will probably pass out! ;)
