Laundry @ CR?

Anyone do self laundry @ CR recently? Or at all? We are in the tower so which one is more convient? Hav never used there facility.

I did laundry at the CR during the last week of May. I used the machines in the South Garden Wing during the early afternoon. Each machine is $2 (so $4 per load). There were 6 washers and 6 dryers. I split my blues (mainly denim shorts) into two dryer loads from one washer load. The dryers worked fine that way. I brought my own Wisk tablets and dryer sheets. There is a sink with liquid hand soap which I used on a chocolate ice cream stain on one shirt (forgot my stain stick).

I put the clothes in the wash and sat by the pool having a cool drink in the shade of an umbrella (my DH and 2 DDs rode the small water boats) and then 30 minutes later moved the clothes to the dryers - went back to my shade and then 30 minutes later folded all the clothes. Very easy and only saw one other person who was about 30 minutes ahead of me in the process.

Do both wings have laundry rooms? We are spending the last part of our vacation on the concierge level at the AKL and I want to have everything washed by then so I can just relax and enjoy the AKL!!!!

if one of your washers or dryers do not work you can go to the guest services area and request a refund. they will be more than happy to do so.

My dryer did not work - it only blew out cold air.

On our trip (May 31 - June 6), our room was on the 6th floor of the tower, and kind of in the middle, so either the South or the North wings were convenient. I chose the North wing. There were several people doing laundry in there. The dryers did take everyone at least two cycle to completely dry your clothes though. One lady had jeans shorts in her load, and she actually had to run that load for 3 cycles to get them "almost" dry. I don't know if the dryers just don't get hot enough over there or what, but I definitely had to run both of my loads through two cycles. The loads were not very big either. I was thankful to have the facilities though!!!

Thanks for the responses! We are in the tower too, so I guess we will just check and see which is less busy. We want to try it out there before moving to poly, I really don't like the poly's laundry. Too small, and crowded.
