Laundry bag or pop up hamper?

We just put our dirty clothes back in the suitcase. That way everything is packed at the end of the trip. Anything not worn (we try not to overpack) is placed in a plastic bag. We do this on weekend trips as well as longer vacations.

About half way through the trip, we empty the first set of dirty clothes back into the suitcase and start again.

I like the hamper because if things are damp or moist (or sweaty), they have an opportunity to dry out before putting them in the suitcase.

My hubby and I each have our own Hefty/Ziploc bag (Large or XL size depending on how long the trip is )....I do not do laundry on vacation. The air squeezes out when it's time to pack up so you have space for goodies you've bought on the trip. You can put it in the closet or hang it on one of the door knobs to keep it out of the way.

We have a large wet/dry laundry bag that zips fully closed. It holds about as much as a pop-up hamper. We take it with us whenever we travel. It's especially great for when we have soiled or wet laundry (swimsuits, poopy baby clothes), and easy to tote to a laundry room, or just stuff into our luggage at the end of the trip with all the soiled clothes inside (which you can't do with a pop-up hamper).

That's what I do, also. If it's packed with dirty clothes, it stinks, even if it's "clean". So it gets washed.

I use a small (carry on size) suitcase stored under the bed. Just put dirty laundry in there and zip it up and roll to the laundry room. Easy to bring clean clothes back to the room to fold that way too. I seem to have too many shoes to take up valuable closet space with a hamper.

I've always used a laundry bag but this thread is leading me to try a pop up hamper next time. Always learning on Disboards!!

We also use a pop-up hamper.
Buy one at the dollar tree. We store the hamper in the bottom of the closet.
Fits perfectly and it's out of the way.
So easy to pack at the end of the cruise as we just pick up the hamper and transfer the contents to our suitcase.
I also used it to carry clothes to/from laundry room.

We used to use a pop-up hamper and hated having to essentially re-pack (& semi-fold) the dirty clothes on the last night to pack them. Now, I use packing cubes, and the dirty clothes get put inside a plastic bag and we re-fill packing cubes with dirty clothes as the trip progresses. We just keep the next one to be filled in the bottom of the closet and as one is filled it goes back into the suitcase under the bed. There are always a few clean clothes on the return and they go in their own packing cube separately so only the dirty ones need laundered when home. The hamper is handy if doing laundry, but it's been a while since I've done laundry myself.

We use a pop-up hamper in the closet also. Works great to keep our dirty clothes in. When it's time to pack up anything that didn't get worn goes all together in one suitcase section and all the rest get filled with the dirties from the hamper. I've only done laundry once on the Panama Cruise since it was 15 nights. We don't try to pack light.

Same here. Pop up and have to do laundry at least once on our Panama Cruise.

We used a pop up but found it was a bit tight in the cabin. Never thought to put in closet, and I too think we had too many shoes and hanging clothes (I pretty much hang everything except my underwear, bathing suits, workout clothes and pjs).

If we go with the family cabin we will take the pop up again. If we go with a regular verandah again I may rethink it.

I have never done laundry on vacation, but we will be away for 2 weeks on this next one so I may need to suck it up. I really wish Disney had the pay one fee and get free laundry all trip. That is awesome on Celebrity!

We tried the Dollar Tree pop-up hamper once and loved how well it fit inside the closet. However, three days later I ended up throwing it out... not because it was damaged in any way, but because DH's dirty socks started stinking up all the clean clothes hanging in the closet!!! (He's going to be mad I just "aired his dirty laundry," lol, but it's true and he knows it!)

I found that the white 13-gallon trash can liners are actually the same width as our roll-aboard suitcases (we only travel with carry-ons). So now, each night we fold our dirty laundry, slide it into a trash bag, twist-tie it shut, and slide it under the bed. We add to the trash bag each night until it's full, squeeze out all the air, tie it shut, pop it into one of the suitcases, and start the next trash bag of dirty laundry. This has worked so well for cruises that we now do this on all our trips!

Thanks for your responses. I'm doing this a part of a fish extender gifts. I received a nice laundry bag last time. We filled in up and at the end of the cruise I closed it up and threw it into the suitcase. It was the easiest packing I've ever had at the end of a trip.

I also use the pop-up hamper. I do not do laundry on a vacation, so I need a place to keep our dirty laundry out of the way. However, once I get home, I wash all of the clothes dirty or clean. For one, I never want any issues with bed bugs or other bugs that do find their way into warm climates. Also, I just never feel a suitcase is very clean. I am a little bit of a germ-a-fobe (not sure how to spell that) though!
