Laundry at WDW?

We did laundry on our last trip because we were gone 10-11 days and we needed to wash clothes mid trip. We also had a 3 yrold and a 13mos old, nuff said on their clothes. We are going for 8days 7 nights, and we will probably end up doing laundry b/c that is way too many suitcases for us.

I hate doing the laundry at home but have some perverse addiction to doing laundry at Disney , god help me !!! but just as others have said - Less to pack and during the summer its hard to not use 2-3 outfits a day. I always fly too and since I am a single mom the less luggage for me to carry the better !! Michelle

Maybe I am a freak, but, If I dont do laundry at least every 3 days, I start obsessing about when I am going to get to do it. I do like the smell and feel of the nice warm, clean clothes, but I dont think thats it. Im just a bit compulsive that way.

We may only be at WDW for 6 nights, but after that we have another 22 nights of travelling around U.S.
This is my biggest dilema at the moment....other than the laundry facilities that will be available for us to use at WL, the rest of our trip we will not have any and we'll have to pay a small fortune to send our laundry out.
 Or.....we'll just have to keep buying more clothes!

I do laundry in hopes of running into Pop Daddy.

You might think I'm a little crazy, but I do laundry almost nightly at WDW!! :confused3

It is one of the few obsessions that I have at home and when I am at WDW.... I like to pack light, we are a family of five - 2 teenagers and a 1 year old, and I can't stand the thought of bringing home dirty laundry. I like to have it all done when we come home so I can just put it away!

As prevoius posters have stated, the laundry facilities are next to the pools. It is nothing for me to throw in a load of laundry while the kids are enjoying downtime in the pool!

I love to do laundry at WDW. We usually go for 12 days or so. I make sure to do laundry mid trip. Even though I pack way more then I need, I find myself having favorites. I end up going through all my favorites halfway through and wanting them clean again. I must be nuts but I feel so much better having all my clothes clean again!

I always do laundry about every 3 or 4 days and there is only 2 of us.
Like others have said, it's right by the pool and is so easy to do. I hate having dirty clothes pile up.
I bring detergent tablets and my own dryer sheets, they take up no room in our bags. I also save quarters before we go so I have the change all ready.

We're DVC'ers also (like many who've already posted). We go for 6-8 days each trip - sometimes driving, sometimes flying. Our kids are older (6 & 11) so there's not much chance for accidents. We usually have enough clothes for half of the trip (3 or 4 days). Neither of us (KAMommy or I) really want to do laundry on our vacation - so here's what we do...

Each night when we're back at the suite we will wash one type (whites, darks, etc.) and get them into the dryer. In the morning while we're getting ready we'll pop that dryer load for some more time so that everything'd dry. Depending on when towel & trash day falls, we sometimes will put a load of towels in the washer in the morning, and put them in the dryer while we're out & about. This system works for us, since we're not having to fold & sort massive piles, and we're making headway toward not having so much to do when we get home.

I am reading more and more about people doing laundry at WDW.

My husband is the designated laundry person in our family. He has done at least one or two loads of laundry on just about all of our Walt Disney World vacations (our vacations normally range from 10 to 17 days). He's done laundry at the Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, BoardWalk, Caribbean Beach, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, and many other resorts. This Summer, however, I was the laundry person since my husband was back home while I was in Walt Disney World with our children for four weeks of fun in the Florida sun. Of course, each time I did laundry on that vacation (far too many times to count), I silently cursed the fact that my man was back home. Drats. Where’s a good man when you need him?! ;)

We normally schedule our laundry time to coincide with our pool time. We keep a close eye on the clock so as to not make our laundry time last any longer than it should (this also allows other folks to keep their laundry schedules flowing smoothly).

I sometimes do our laundry - I think KAMommy would probably prefer that I don't! The Darks, Colors, Whites thingie kind of melds in my mind (plus I am a red-green color blind) so I sometimes have some 'interesting' load combinations...
