Laundry at the Poly

Do I need to bring my own detergent? And do they have coin machines so I can get change? I may need to do one load of laundry while I'm there and I am not going to have laundry service do it cauz it's too expensive. Thanks in advance for any info!

Is there a good time to go? Do you think most people do their laundry at night? Also, does anyone know how late it is open?

We stay at the Poly quite a bit. I do laundry at night after we get back from the parks. Around 10pm it always seems to be empty. They have quite a few washers and dryers. We usually take our own liquid soap as we drive so it isn't a problem. When flying we take those detergent tablets. I haven't been able to find any of those yet for this trip so I will probably have to buy soap there. There is a change machine right there but sometimes it is empty so bring plenty of quarters just to be safe.

Can anyone tell me how much a load costs?

Skiwee1-I found some Laundry Tablets at Walmart, I think they were 10 for .97$! Not a brand I've ever heard of though, hope my things come out ok! See you at the Pool, looks like we'll be a the Poly at the same time.

I was just there and did laundry. It's $2 for each wash or dry.

Although you can do laundry 24/7 at the Polynesian, you will need to use your room key if you want to access it very late or very early.

The few times I've done laundry, I've usually gone very early...6 am or so. If you're an early riser, it's great. No one there and empty machines other than those of a few inconsiderate people who leave theirs overnight. I think it is locked until 7 am. Don't know when it is locked in the evening.

Do try to take your own detergent. I have looked all over for those tabs for months and cant find them. Usually at wal mart tehre is a trial size of tide by the counters.......you could put it in a ziploc .........but the detergent is high and the washing and drying are high as stated above. It was very busy in the afternoon. TV is there so you can sit and watchon sofas.....HAVE FUN we were there last year in october and LOVED it. We are now DVC owners because of that trip!!!

Great! Thanks for everyone's help. I leave in 3 days!!! Yeah! My suitcase is so overpacked I now need to unpack and pack again. Guess I'll have to do laundry now since I can't cram another thing into my suitcase!
