We are staying for an extended trip at both BC and Poly.

How much does it roughly cost to do self laundry at these resorts? Are the laundry rooms available at all hours? Do you need to bring your own wash powders or can you purchase there?

Alternatively do the hotels do serviced laundry? How expensive is this and how long would it take?

Thanks in advance for any help

Tony

I took my soap powder with fabric softenr with
and saved money that way I think it was around a $1.00
but a load was $1.50 I think
I took a roll of quarters with me
so I did not have to look for change any where I think dryer was $1.00 also

The laundries are open all the time. One of my friends likes to get up in the morning and do her family's laundry at 6:00 since it's so quiet and she can through the stuff in the machines and relax with a book at the pool.

You can buy your supplies there but they will be at Disney prices. Throwing a couple of laudnry tablets and a couple of dryer sheets in a zipper bag won't take up too much room in your luggage.

Take plenty of quarters. You only need one wash cycle but the dryers are very slow and it'll take at least two cycles through there. At least.

Here are the prices from November 23rd at the Poly...:laundy:

Single Use Box of Tide - $1.00
Dryer Sheets-- ?? Brought a few from home.
Washer- $2.00/load. Not huge-- standard size.
Dryer- $2.00/ load--standard large Laundromat Dryer BUT over 45 minutes dry time

I did approximately 1 week's worth of laundry for 4 of us. I definitely needed 4 washers to fit it all. I dried in 3 dryer loads though. Please note: I dried the jeans on Medium and the lighter stuff on Low. I know I could've probably avoided the 2nd dry time using a higher heat, but I'd rather spend the money than nuke my clothes. They actually feel crunchy if you go too high. Those commercial dryers are HOT!

Breakdown--

2 washers of jeans/heavy stuff, each into a separate dryer.
$1.00 soap, $2.00 wash, $2.00 dry x 2.
Sorted out dry items and the dried additional time in one dryer for additional $2.00.
Total $16.00 jeans.

1 washer of shirts, jammies, lighter weight items. Combined with whites to dry. Dried 2nd time due to very large load.
$1.00 soap, $2.00 wash, $2.00 dry. 2nd dry $2.00
Total $7.00 light stuff.

1 washer whites.
$1.00 soap, $2.00 wash, dried with other shirts.
Total $3.00 whites.

Total $26.00.
Also, this does not include the Tonga Toast, Cinnamon Bun and Coke that were required by my DD and I to complete this mission.

Open all hours-- Need Room Key to enter after 11:00 pm, before 6 a.m.?? They do offer laundry services-- exorbitant! $2.00/pair socks or underwear to start. Almost brought the price sheet home to have for this board... I could not fathom needing anything washed so badly as to pay the prices they charge.
