We have a trip planned to WDW late May/early June. Any indications that the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be open by then?

Nothing new. "Spring 2014" is the official Disney line. Anything else is conjecture by the local armchair Imagineers.

Amazing how tight lipped Disney has been able to keep this (almost get the feeling that they don't know when this may open).

I would have thought that, by now, we'd at least have a good idea of the opening date within a one month window.

But it still seems like the soft opening could be any time between early February and late May (with the official opening likely 1-2 months after that).

That's a pretty big window for this late in the game (although, I guess it pales in comparison to when Test Track first opened).

I've heard from one Len Testa that the contractor must "hand over" the coaster by February. Considering Disney will want to do plenty CM training and CM tests, it will be sometime after that before it begins soft opens, but he was saying an "official" opening sometime around April 1.

~I also find the large window to be bizarre. This is a kiddie coaster, nothing complex like Test Track. Plus, the mine train needs to be in the FP+ system. I'm sure we'll know more, once the Disney finalizes the details on FP+ for everyone. I cannot wait!!! :cool1:

As a stock owner in the armchair engineers inc. I'm calling for a soft open somewhere during the spring break stretch....LOL!

From the obvious and open easy to see looks of it this past weekend - Spring Break will be a stretch unless they get something kicked in high gear.

Does anyone know what the height requirement is going to be?

I read that same thing on the TouringPlans blog.

I was surprised that Testa was so bullish about the opening date given how much work still needs to be done.

I hope he's right but am somewhat skeptical.

Yeah, I would say April Fools Day would be appropriate ;)

Really? The pictures in the blogs are a bit misleading then....and the testing of mine carts they keep talking about....either way I'm still not running off any cliffs or anything if it isn't open when I go....
