Latest to buy tickets/make reservations?

We have a trip planned for the end of August but don't want to buy tickets until we know for sure the trip will happen. My biggest worry is a hurricane, followed by extreme heat. Last year we spent 3 days very anxious and then had our flights canceled due to a hurricane. I don't want to risk tying up $1000 in ticket credits. What's the absolute latest I can buy park tickets and make park reservations for the end of August? I'm hoping I'll be okay 2 weeks out.

You can buy tickets and make reservations the same day that you enter a park. I guess the sticking point here is the park reservations -- which are not "sold out" -- so just keep an eye on that calendar and if any days hit yellow that's when you know you need to act.

I would not anticipate reservations to be a challenge in August as as @g-dad66 shared, there hasn't been a day when park reservations are full since the spring. There should be no problems for you to wait until you feel comfortable to purchase.

I agree with the others -- you could wait until the day of the visit if you want. You'll be fine that time of year.

(But extreme heat is a given in August...)
