Latest PTN 'grab a spot' times?

For the later PTN, I've noticed that people claim spots right after the firework show. Since it is slower season now, Disneyland doesn't always have 2 PTN parades, so make sure to plan accordingly. Looks like they have 2 parades during the weekends, when they are open later.

HTH,
Kriss pirate:

Yesterday Soundsational was late. It seemed like it ended around 5pm. Not a lot of people with curbside spots on Main St got up. PTN was at 8pm, Fireworks at 8:40 and park closed at 9pm. If you don't mind standing behind the curb sitters, I'd say 30-40 minutes. For a curb seat, I'd say within 30 minutes of the prior parade ending.

They sat there for 3 hours!? I can't do that! LOL Maybe I should look at packages. I'd like to sit.

I imagine that as the route got closer to IASW there were more seated spots. Personally, I knew if we went there we'd never get out of the park, so I opted to skip PTN and watch fireworks from far back on Main St. Then we walked back to M&F to avoid the tram.

Do you have to be seated? PTN isn't that long a parade, so if standing isn't a problem in and of itself, that would open up your choice of viewing spots considerably. We've been able to walk right up to second row spots without any trouble with minimal, maybe 5 minutes?, wait time. For the second parade, there are usually quite a few great spots in the second row right before the parade starts.

We went on Avengers weekend and snagged a bench near the train station about 2.5 hours early. We wanted a bench and to rest our legs before the race. Some benches were still open (with people using them for a bit and getting up) until about 90 minutes ahead and the curbs were open until about an hour before. But, this was during Christmas and behind the tree, so no view of fireworks. I don't know if that would make these spots less desirable then they may be now. Second row in that area- probably 10-15 minutes or so before the parade.

Sounds like it still varies quite a bit. I will reserve a dining package now, and then decide if I can cancel it in March.
