Haven't heard much lately on the possible FD promotion that may or may not be offered for Sept 2014. Of course around this time of year comes the rumors that Disney will not be offering free dining anymore because they're cutting back on discounts. But I see the room offer for summer ends Aug 28th, which would lead some to believe that the next offer will be FD starting Aug 29th.

What is the latest scoop? Is FD coming for Sept?

I received a pin code for April so hopefully FD will be back for the fall

I think they did the same thing last year - RO ended a few days before August ended and FD started a few days into September.

I imagine they'll do the same this year. I doubt August will be included in FD since they didn't include them last year.

So hopefully this is a good sign.

I'm waiting to book either FD or Stay, Play and Dine, because I priced both and they were the same discount in cost for me. I have already been making my ressies (a few a day, no problems) even though I don't have package book yet.

I just booked sept 24-29 at Sports and I got an offer for the free photo plus package (I think that's what it's called). Dining would be great though. Do you think they'd offer double discounts?

Usually it's only one discount per package. If FD does come out, you can replace the memory maker discount with FD.

And it's a much better deal too.....

Just be careful booking "hoping" for FD.
If Disney see's the rooms booking up for September, there would be no need for Disney to offer a discount, especially FD or S/P/D.
The predictor crowd level websites are already changing.
When they first start predicting the crowd levels, it is based on historical data, then they adjust their numbers based on bookings of the resorts.
When I first started watching touringplans, undercover tourist, easywdw at the beginning of the year, they all showed the month of September as 1's, 2's and a few 3's sprinkled around but in the past month or so, they have steadily gone up and now September is showing to be 3's and 4's with just a few 2's sparadically throughout the month.

Im in the same boat We are wating for FD for October. I have high hopes because my DH insist we have the 3 meals a day plan which IMO is going to be too much food but it is our honeymoon and he wants to try some of the 2credit meals. Lets all keep out fingers crossed!!! :cheer2:

Definitely! We are going regardless of the discount so if free dining does come out, it'll be a wonderful bonus. I don't see paying for it to be a real savings, for us at least, but I get it because it's one less thing to worry about while on vacation.

It's just me and my 8 year old and right now I've just got QS but I may switch to the TS dining. We are staying at ASsp so if free dining happens to come out, isn't it just the QS that would be offered at that hotel level?

I'm coming up on my 180 day and the more I think of it, I'd like to have those TS meals. Decisions decisions. If I was offered free QS, would they upgrade me to the regular TS plan if I paid the difference?

I believe you can. We upgraded from regular plan with the FD discount to deluxe dining and just paid the difference last year.

Based on previous years, this promo wouldn't come out until around May right? And it would probably come out alongside a room only promo.

Is there typically a warning before these things are released or its just a matter of watching each morning for any news? :magnify:

Spring Special Offer ends at the end of this month, the Summer Special offer I think ends June 6th. The summer special offer came out during the Spring Offer, so here's hoping FD may do the same, overlap Summer offer.

You can get free dining only with a full price room plus tickets package of at least 3 nights but no more than 14 nights, including a minimum of 2 day base park tickets for each guest age 3 and over.

You can't get it with any other type of reservation - DVC, ticketless package for AP, cast member friends and family, you name it.

September FD came out last year on May 9th. I only remember the date because the first wave of Fall FD (end Sept-Dec) Pins came out that day and my sister got one that we used. Seemed a lot of surprise that September GP FD came out and then PINs later that day.

Last year the FD was posted later that years previous. It will be interesting on if and when the will announce it this year.:rolleyes1
