Later PS time for Character Breakfasts

I just made a PS for PSB for 10:20 AM on Halloween and am curious as to your experiences with booking later seatings for Character Meals? Is the character interaction as good, or does it feel like they are trying to rush you a bit more toward the end. Thanks for your responses!

We've done this at Donald's at the AK, Garden Grill, PSB, Chef Mickey's 1900 Park Fare and Cape May. We have late breakfasts scheduled for PSB, CRT and CP for August. I used to have some of the same concerns as you about a late breakfast but we have always had hot food and the characters never seemed rushed.

Since you specifically mentioned PSB, I'll comment on our experience this past November. We had a 10:20 seating and when we got to our table the food came right away and the princesses were working the room. Each character spent quite a bit of time with us even though we didn't have any small children with us and we even had Cinderella at our breakfast! Our waitress CM was gracious and we had several skillets of the food and it was all hot and fresh. We have the PSB booked for 10:15 for our upcoming trip and I have no doubt that we will get similar service. Hope you have a wonderful time!!!

We did a late character breakfast (PS at 10:45) at Chef Mickey's just last month... I was a little worried too, but it worked out great. We were there until the very end when they started packing up the buffet, the characters stuck around until noon.. In fact, the manager came by to make sure all of the characters had made at least one visit to the table before they left. We have the coolest video as Pluto came and pulled up a chair and sat next to my 1 year old Daughter about 10 minutes. He sat there playing with her, pretending to eat her food, etc.. I seriously doubt Pluto would have had the luxury of sitting down if the restaurant had been full during the morning rush. It was great. The only downside was we were so busy filming and photographing my wife had to rush up to the buffet to grab her food before they took it away. (She always feeds the baby first..)

In fact, we did a late Character breakfast at Vero Beach the same trip and got the same attention.. Goofy sat down with my son and played tic tac toe for about 10 minutes. Once again, wonderful photo ops..

I was very impressed with the service this year. Now, 2 years ago we had a late seating at dinner at CM's and it wasn't the same, it was rushed, the character's came by once. We will not do a late dinner like that again..

I've been to CP and CM around 10AM. Both of the restaurants were slowly starting to empty but even still the food was fresh. The wait staff were really good about making sure all of the characters came by I thought at CP, the characters had more time to spend with us...

Thanks to the DISBoard , this is the strategy we're using for our next trip. We have a PS for PSB @ 10:20 on 8/15 - the day that Mission Space has it's official soft opening! We'll hit MS, Test Track and whatever else we can then have a leisurely brunch with the princesses. It's also Enight, so I'm not planning anything else that day until we go to MK that night.

We have a PS on our last day for Chef Mickey's @ 11:15, again, we should have a relaxing meal and the characters practically all to ourselves!

We also have a PS for Cindy's, it's @ 8:00 on EE day, I'm not happy about the time, but with Cindy you have to take what you can get! I am gonna call the night before and ask if anything later has opened up, we were hoping to hit a bunch of rides first.

Thanks for the responses everyone! The more I think about it the more I think the timing for this will work out good, especially at Epcot. We have the same strategy as you do Laurabelle, hit a few things at opening and then take a break to eat. It should work out great.

We are going to try for CRT at the 60 mark (can you tell my girls love the princesses!) but I think I prefer the earliest seating on a non EMH day for this one. We did this last year and had Main Street practically to ourselves which is very cool in itself, and were positioned at the entrance to Fantasyland at the rope drop. We were among the first in and were completely done with Fantasyland in under an hour. Although, I agree you have to take what you can get for this one!
