I'm not talking about time, age, or length of engagement! :rotfl:

I attended a wedding last Saturday where the groom was an hour late due to a late relative, who was riding with him, and the other groomsmen. (He may have been in the wedding party)

The minister came out about 40 minutes after the wedding was scheduled to let the congregation know. Apparently, this relative(s) was from out of town, but the town was only about 1&1/2 hours away, and it was a 3PM Sat wedding. (little traffic)

My question is, how long should you wait for anyone other than the bride or groom? I don't understand why, if that person was so important, they weren't in town earlier in the day. :confused3

Would YOU expect them to hold the wedding for you for that long?

I am suprised the groom waited around for this person. I would have left him at the bus stop(or where ever). I wonder what the Bride was thinking! And holding a wedding can get expensive.

If it had been my wedding, I would of ended up paying extra for the photographer & minister, both being payed by the hour. And the location of our wedding was only for a cerain time slot. There was another wedding after us. It would have been impossible to hold the wedding for an hour!

How fustrating!

My husband had to wait almost an hour for me and all my bridesmaids at our wedding! I felt so horrible. We had 2 limos and one of them was very, very late, so we were all standing at the door to my house waiting for it to come. It finally arrived, we all hopped in them, and then the drivers took the slowest route possible to the church. My husband was so embarassed having to stand at the front of the church all that time waiting for us. There was a Saturday evening mass after our wedding, so I really felt bad, but it all worked out. The priest moved a little faster than normal and the parishoners waiting for mass had a great time (or so it seemed) watching the end of our wedding.

My wedding was delayed almost 3 hours because my mother got lost. She was following the limo (Boston driver) and he ran a yellow light. Mom was not from the area and had left all the info at my house. Once we realized she was "missing" we had people go look for her. But it was Boston so of course we didn't find her. I was in tears and refused to get out of the limo. Thankfully everyone was very understanding and waited patiently. Some even went to McDonald's. Boston police put out an APB for her van. They said they had never done that before!

Finally, I decided that I couldn't make everyone wait anymore and went inside the church. My mom never did make it and missed my wedding. To this day, she will not watch the video, it's too sad for her. :sad1:
