Late Summer/Early Fall Incentives

I thought they closed this loophole (or at least force you to call)--I guess it depends on what the guards see.
Anecdotally, I can tell you that this is true for some restaurants, not true for others. As a guess, I think it depends on if the restaurant is owned by Disney or owned by one of the partners (Palmas, etc.)--and then which partner. Last trip, I had a number of "two person" reservations, three of which I moved down to one. A friend I was meeting was hit hard with allergies. Anyway, some reservations seemed to shift over to "call us at..." while others remained accessible on MDE up until two hours before.

But, again, "fixing" it will make things inconvenient for everyone. There has to be a balance between "stops enough people" and "is not miserable for the legitimate guests."
They did recently close this one. You can’t modify a reservation on the app inside of 2 hours. You have to call or go to guest relations and it’s dealt with on a case by case basis.

I was at Kidani and knew I wouldn’t make a breakfast reservation at HS. I went to the front desk to ask how late I could arrive and not be charged a no-show fee. He said you can go any time during the meal period. This wasn’t going to work for me since our reservation was for 10:25 and breakfast ends at 10:30. The CM was kind enough to cancel for me so that I wasn’t charged.

I had to cancel within two hours before (abysmal traffic on I-4) and the only way I could do it was get the cast member to move my reservation to a later time and then I was able to cancel on the app. They helped me out moving it because I physically had no way with the accidents on the road to get there in time. But to do that each time you visit just to get a better parking spot is literally insane.

If we are talking about the same person (obviously we are), to be frank a walk from the TTC parking lot to the ferry or from the front of EPCOT to world showcase would do him good.

I do believe that is the plan.
Well blast. If that's the case, would you recommend buying before 9/16 to lock in the extra Welcome Home Weeks incentive discount, or waiting until 9/21 so I can have optionality on the current incentives vs the next set?

Is there any chance that if I buy on like 9/15, but then better incentives are released on 9/30 that I would be able to get those? Also, do you know if they will announce that the Welcome Home Weeks incentive is ending in advance?

All of these incentives can change at any time, as the welcome home weeks addition has proved. If they wanted to they could end the welcome home weeks incentive in 5 minutes with zero warning.

Buy now, and just don't close until after the new incentives come out in October. Stretch out your payments to 60 days. As long as you haven't closed they can rewrite the deal if the October incentives are better. I doubt they will be, but you never know! Over the past few years it seems like this late Summer cycle is the best incentive cycle of the year.

Wait, please tell me more on this. How are "buying" and "closing" two different things? I think you're saying I can:

1. Enter into the contractual agreement to buy today, but then only make an initial payment today.
2. Make the second, final payment 30+ days later, which would officially "close" the deal.
3. Receive a rebate/adjustment if the incentives announced on 9/29 are better than the deal I purchase today.

Do I have that right?

That’s exactly what I did. Signed my deal back in July on 300 RIV points. At that time, the incentives that expired mid-July were better than the pre-Welcome Home weeks incentives on 300 points. My final payment was not scheduled until late September. The Welcome Home weeks incentives came out and my deal was re-written with the new incentives. I went ahead and paid my balance and have already closed - figured nothing better was coming and just wanted to get on with it. But, could have held out a little longer if I had wanted to.

I was initially concerned that once you past your 10 day rescission period, Disney could just say, well tough. You’re locked in and we aren’t giving you better incentives. But that was absolutely not the case. My guide was basically like, sure, we can absolutely re-price it.

Wow, awesome! I just reached out to a guide to get things started. Wish me (and my bank account, lol) luck!

Once you get a quote from a "tour" (which can be a phone conversation) Florida law gives you at least seven days at that price.

It is important to note that they absolutely can do this, but so far they haven't. I would not count on being able to re-write a deal that is past the rescission date, but would consider it a nice bonus.

Someone else can chime in here--but I believe you can do a virtual tour of whatever resort interests you just before these end--say Sep 14--which "should" then lock in the offer for seven days. I think that would be the easiest option, if that works. Again, someone else can chime in on this.
