My DS10 and I are traveling late this month. We have late dinner seating.

Will my son miss alot of the activities at the Oceaneers Lab? Since it is just he and I, I want him to eat with me as much as possible.

Thanks
Kathy

there really isn't too much to miss because while you are eating "late", the early seating is scheduled to be in the Walt Disney Theatre....and vice versa.

Yes, I'm concerned about the same thing. I'm traveling with my DS 11 next week. From the navigators I looked at many of the interesting things start in the lab during second seating, so I think I will be dining with myself a lot. Maybe he'll pop in and join me. I was thinking of trying to switch it on board, but don't know about that either.

We always opt for late seating because we live on the West Coast. Eating at Main Seating is just too early for us. As for the clubs, yes, there will be some activities that will be missed because they start during late seating. HTH.

We live in the West Coast too but our last cruise, we did the main seating. Main seating starts at 6:30 which is really 9:30 pm in "body clock" language. It worked out well but I didn't like being rushed to get out for the second seating.

Our next cruise is late seating. We're just trying everything and giving both seatings a chance.

I think you got that backwards. It is really 3:30 on the west coast. ;)

Guess I'm in the same boat - I want to keep our late seating and figured we'd see the early shows, but I didn't think the kids would miss interesting stuff going on in the labs or clubs during late dinner. They will be 9, 11 and 11 when we sail. How many fun activities would they miss? I can't imagine not eating with them, since that's our together time at home. Anyone have a navigator they can check? Thanks!!! Melissa

OMG! I did have that all backwards...the laughs are on me.....I
boy, i sound intelligent....i've been trying to cut back on the caffeine consumption. thanks for telling me. If my DH saw this, he would say "see Jen, you spend way too much time on that disboards and you're going crazy"

It's not the caffeine that you need to limit, it's those lunchtime mixed drinks! :rotfl: ;)

We did find that there were "good" kid activities scheduled in the Lab during late seating dinner. However, there is no way that a child can go to everything....you'll miss the shows or the family nightclub activities or something.

DD and I have done 12 cruises on the Magic "alone together." We have always made a point of meeting for dinner, no matter what the other plans for the day. We do prefer late dinner. If the child gets hungry, you can always do a piece of pizza or a hamburger on deck 9 to hold him/her over.
