Late PAT and group 26?

Leaving on the Fantasy on Jan. 19 and got group 26 and a PAT of 1:45-2:00. Of course I saw it says not to arrive early, which I understand.

Would you still arrive at 1:45pm, though? I've seen posts that say boarding is open to all groups by noon. I also know boarding later can be nice because the port is less crowded, others have cleared out from lunch, etc, so I'm not complaining. Just trying to figure out the best arrival time for group 26 on the Fantasy on that day. Thanks!

IMO, arriving after 12-12:30 would be fine. By then the announcement of boarding numbers has stopped and Open Boarding has been called.

Thank you. So...does the arrival time not correspond with the boarding numbers being called? I would think that group 26 would not get called until 1:45pm or after based on what we were assigned. But it sounds like they could call group 26 prior to 12 or 12:30? Or I am totally confused here!

Once “open boarding” is called they stop calling numbers. Open boarding hits when the only numbers left are future (later) PATs. So by 12:30-ish that typically occurs, after which your boarding number doesn’t matter.

No real correlation.. Our last cruise we had 12;15/12:30 BG 10 our next cruise is 11:30/11:45 BG 9 and we have never had 30 minutes between BG's being called.

Technically yes. There is a link between PAT and BG, the earlier PATs have the earlier BGs. But, as stated by others, once they get to open boarding they stop calling numbers. So the linkage mostly matters for the early PATs/BGs.

That's probably because they started PATs/boarding later overall for your first cruise than your second. Itinerary and port can also play a factor in why PATs may be different from one sailing to another.
