Late Park Entry

I heard that there is a discounted late entry rate for the Disney Parks. Could someone explain that to me regarding cost? We are arriving May 23 in the late afternoon, and I was debating whether to go to MK that day or just hang around DTD. We are staying offsite.

The only discounted late-entry passes that I know of are issued exclusively to convention-goers. If you are fortunate enough to be one, or traveling with one, there are "after 2 pm" passes. They are not park hoppers. They are $42 for a 1day/1park after 2 pass and $75 for a 2day/1park-per-day after 2 pass.

The sources that I know they are available thru are the Orlando/Orange County Convention Bureau and thru Disney themselves. Your convention organizers may also have a broker who will supply these passes. In all cases, you would need to supply the name of the convention that you are attending and may be asked to provide proof of attendance upon admission. If you are going directly thru Disney, the convention you are attending must be at one of Disney's facilities.

I wish they had some kind of discount after a later time in the day. We would love to take mil and fil to MGM but the price for the whole day for people who would only be doing the shows is very expensive. Or maybe a pass that older people can purchase if they will only be walking around. I understand why that would never work but we can always hope.
Mil & Fil have said they would love to come along and watch the grandkids enjoy the day but since they are limited budget dh doesn't think it is a good idea for them to spend over $100 for the day. If there was a dicount ticket then we would fro sure take them.
