Late October FP+ strategy ??

We are going to WDW the last week of October. We have traveled during that week several times so I feel that I have enough experience on what to expect crowd wise.

But scheduling FP+ in advance adds a new twist in our trip planning. Originally my plan was to do standby lines in the morning and book the 3 FP+ attractions for the afternoon when lines tend to be longer. But then Disney added the available 4th FP+ and so on. So now I wonder... do I pre-book the 3 FP+ attractions for the morning with hopes that additional 4th, 5th, 6th FP+ will still be available for the afternoon? And the then if they aren't, now we're stuck in the afternoon with no FP+ and longer standby lines. :confused3 Considering the typical crowd level for late October, my experience tells me that there should be additional FP+ available in the afternoon except for rides like TT, Soarin, TSM, and now 7DMT. So maybe my idea of doing standby at Rope Drop is best for EPCOT touring and try to get TT and Soarin in first and then a 2nd time for one of those with FP+ in late morning? AAGGHHHH!! I don't know.

Anyone else contemplating the same thing?

We will be there the same time, so close yet so far away. It's my favorite time to go. I'm having the same dilemma. I've been reading the post. We have till August to decide.

We're traveling the first week in Oct. My current plan is to rope drop, ride standby the first 60-90 minutes, and schedule fp+ for 10-11, 11-12, and 12-1. Then see what is available for 4th and subsequent fp+.

To be honest, I'm kind of waiting for Josh to adjust his cheat sheets. Then I'll do what he says. :D

I will be there the same week! Was just there at the beginning of May and we had 3 FP+ for Epcot (Soarin' was our pick for Tier 1). When we finished using our 3, we had no problems getting a 4th FP+ for TT. I think the crowd estimates are about the same for the end of October as they were for the beginning of May. Hope this helps!

I'm also there that week. My plan for MK days is to ride standby at RD til maybe 10:30ish and then start using FP+. For Epcot tho, my plan is to arrive at RD and ride TT standby. Have Soarin'for 9-10, Land 10-11 and Nemo for 11-12. Figure I can be thru 2nd checkpoint of Soar in' by 9:45 at the latest. At which time I'll move up land. While on that ride, I'll move up Nemo. Once I'm done with Nemo, I'll try for a 2nd FP+ for Soar in' for later in the evening and then head to WS and spend the day there. I'm hoping that by moving the 2nd and 3rd up, it'll still be early enough and Soar in' will be available. AK, 3 will probably be fine. HS not sure yet.
