I know we're all not meteorologists here but I'm wondering what I'm in for, for this trip. We've always gone in either April or1st week in may. Nothing but perfect weather. The questions I have have to deal w/temps in Oct /Nov. Will I need to have some long pants and sweatshirts? Along with shorts? What about rain? Still be in hurricane season? Any help or info will be gladly appreciated thank you.

I LOVE going in Oct. and we are going this Oct 20th however accuweather is calling for a Troptober effect (lots of tropical weather) that month which may necessitate me buying a comfortable pair of rain boots. I don't mind being wet but I'm in my 50s and having comfortable feet is a necessity.:goodvibes The weather is USUALLY warm enough for shorts. However a layering outfit is always a good idea. October IS still a hurricane month.

October is our fav time to go. Usually it's still warm enough for shorts but the evenings get pretty cool imo. Because of that, I usually layer or wear capris. Definately bring some warmer clothes just in case, but as the other poster mentioned, its supposed to be a bit hotter this year. Have fun!

we have been both in May and October...we prefer October. We are from pretty far North so it is almost always shorts weather for us when there, however, the last time we were in October the day we were leaving for the airport was 33 degrees that morning. We were really happy we were wearing Jeans and had a jacket for the return trip home.

we were there Nov. 1st-8th in 2008 and the weather was awesome. It rained maybe 10 minutes of our entire trip (I really don't think it was even that long). And the temps were perfect too. We only had one "cool" day, however my daughter and I still kept our sweatshirts with us for restaurants since we are cold natured. But I still wore Capris and she wore shorts and the guys all wore shorts and we were fine.

We've gone a few times in early November. I agree with the other posters. Nights get pretty cool. Usually we go back to the resort and change into pants & grab a sweatshirt or jacket for the night time. Days we can usually even go for a swim. To give you an idea of the cllimate change I have that time of year, last time we flew in November we left Boston it was 42 degrees, we got into Orlando it was 82. That's probably about average for us, so even 60 degrees seems warm to us that time of year. Good luck. We always pack bathing suits and sweat shirts. IMO it's perfect!:lovestruc

Thank everyone for the great info.. <----Keeping my fingers crossed & hopefully :worship: mother nature is very kind to us all..

We were there in mid Oct in '08 and it was warm every day (low 80's) but one day it was only in the low 60's which really threw us off because our routine was breakfast...pool...park...shower....sleep...repeat. I wanted to skip the pool that day but DD wouldn't have it. At least the pool was semi-heated though. Don't remember it raining at all though...maybe one night. Going Oct 24th and HOPING for GREAT weather...at least no rain and no crazy coldness!

As the weather always does...the forecast has turned. Looks like we will be in little to no rain and lows in the 60's and highs in the 80's. Hope this forecast sticks!

We were there last year Oct 31st - Nov 6th and it was AWESOME!!! I cannot tell you how perfest the weather was, high 70's low 80's everyday low humidity and not a drop of rain the whole week! We have been in May as well and early Nov was much better. Also the crowds were almost non existent even though it was "Jersey week". It was so great we are going back this year the same week, only not going to Disney:scared1: and going to Universal and Seaworld instead:yay:

Awesome Thanks for the update. & keep the info coming in if anything changes....Good or Baaad:mad: Also Have fun in The other Disney..LoL aka Universal.

We went in 2006 and 2009 for NJ week (fist week of November) and the weather was spectacular both trips. It's warm but not hot, cool evenings that you can get by with a jean jacket or sweatshirt (zip up that you can open or belt around your waist if you get too warm). Day are usually warm enough to swim and do water parks, very little rain and crowds are very managable.

Capri's are the ideal pant to wear as they are lighter weight and longer so that if it does get cool or you are in a drafty restaurant, you are covered.

OH! You'll be there the same time I will! Every trip to disney I take is in october/november! I love it, it's perfect weather! It's pretty springlike a little chilly in the morning mid 70's in the afternoon and cool at night. You'll probably want to bring jeans and tshirts along with a hoodie. It always rains but you'll probably only get one day where it drizzles for more than five minutes you'll need a poncho or umbrella for that. Rain doesnt bother me especially in Disney they have so much to do inside like rides and shows and shopping.

We are going Oct 25-Nov 4. Accuweather just changed they forecast, as did myforecast.com. http://www.myforecast.com/bin/expanded_forecast_15day.m?city=13349&metric=false. They're now saying rain from the 25 to the 29th (curent extent of it's forecast.)

It's actually saying for the 26th "Tons of rain. Mostly cloudy. Warm." and 1.49 inches of rain.

I really hope this changes. I'm so bummed right now :(

I just saw this too! Keep an eye on the forecast, these can change often. But, that being said, I'm going to make sure I buy some ponchos and pack a small umbrella :( Rain every day would put a damper on our trip, but it would certainly scare away any crowds! And, a rainy day at Disney is still a day at Disney...

Yes, keep an eye on it as the other day I looked and the forecast was different than it was today. The first 3 dys we are going to be there it said rain at 70% and now it is no rain at all..

Lets all keep our fingers crossed!

OK wait a second what am I missing here. I am going Oct 25-29 also saw your post saying rain. Kind of got sad went right to your for cast post and it say 80s and sunny.??????????:confused3

The weather in October can vary wildly - in Oct. 2009, I was there for 11 days. We had both record-high temps (low-to-mid 90s with high humidity the beginning of the week) and record low temps, all in the same trip!

I didn't bring nearly enough clothes for the cooler weather - I ended up frantically searching for warm socks at Epcot one day, when there was a really cold breeze coming off the lake. I was wearing sweapants, but the cool breeze went right up my calves and I was cold! Finally found a pair of pseudo-knee-socks at the Japan pavilion, which went part way up my calves. And I only had one pair of long pants and one sweatshirt. Brrr.

So my advice is to change the long-range forecast before you leave. (My problem was, the forecast I saw didn't go beyond the first week, which was unusually hot, so I brought only short sleeve tops and shorts. When the weather dropped 30 degrees from one day to the next, I didn't have the right stuff!)

To be safe, bring a little bit of everything (long pants, shorts, sweatshirt, jacket, sleeveless tops). You can always layer!
