I hear the time between Monday after Thanksgiving and December 20th is the BEST time to go in regards to price and crowds. Can anyone confirm this? Is that actually value season? Any recommendations on exactly when to go in this time frame?

yes it is great!! and it is value season. we go sometime during the first 2 weeks of the month. the closer to christmas the more the crowds.

yes it can be the perfect time to go- but there is one flaw-
the water parks arent opened :earseek:

I've gone at the beginning of December the past 6 years. It's wonderful! Crowds are low and the Christmas decorations and events are beautiful. The only bad part is the weather can be iffy. 1998, 1999 & 2001 were great - high 70's/low 80's, no rain. 2000 was cold, low 60's almost the whole time and down into the 40's at night. 2002 & 2003 were mixed, some warm days, some cold, 2 days of heavy rain in 2002.

Of December each year since 1992 and love going this time of year.We visit at other time's of year but early December is our favorite time to visit. With all the decorations,MVMCP,CP,Holidays Around The World and Osborne Lights just make it special time for us.::yes:: :wave2:

Great time to go..crowds disappear on monday after Thanksgiving and you can pretty much walk on everything, few lines and good weather..cannot be beat.

Hmmm...maybe I'm wrong...BUT...Im sure I've read several times that at least one of the water parks is usually open at this time of year.

One is. They close them one at a time for rehab, so one is always open.

The only bad thing about that time of year is the weather, IMHO. We had a great time last December - the decorations were awesome, the lines were short, we got to see the CP and MVMCP, the resturants weren't too crowded. BUT - we were in long sleeves every day and heavy sweatshirts at night. Except that one random day when it was warm enough of tank tops! The weather that time of year is very variable.

If I had my way, we would go this time every year...have been there the last 3 years the day after Thanksgiving.....it is gorgeous. There were few and far between days where we would have done a waterpark or the pool, but I love not being hot and humid and waiting in absolutley no lines at all.....unfortunately, my family loves the pool, water rides and the waterparks so Dec is out this year!

We've been twice during the first to second week (from about the 5th-13th, or so) of December. No crowds to speak of -- actually, eery in some places of the parks! Others are right about the weather -- I distinctly remember needing sweatshirts at night on one trip, and having to BUY shorts on the second trip! But, it was a great time.

Question for others who have gone the week after Thanksgiving. One poster mentioned crowds disappearing the Monday after Turkey Day -- but this year we're flying in on Saturday and were going to start touring the parks on Sunday. Will the parks still be crowded on Sunday? Or do most people fly out that day? Should we wait to hit a park on Monday?

Thanks!

Sunday is the day we always start our park touring...we have started with Epcot both times, so can only speak for that park, but we pretty much had it to ourselves...the longest we have waited during this Sunday at Epcot was probably 20 minutes for Test Track in the middle of the day!

Went for our first December last year and doing it again this year. It's wonderful and seems especially so when you're comparison is always having gone in August!!! Loved it!!! We went and are going for the first week of the month.

We're headed down for the week after Thanksgiving this year. I've heard all of the same things posted here. I don't mind the weather--as long as it's not raining. It has to get pretty cold for it to bother me.

Can't wait!

This is our favorite time of year too! The decorations are amazing & will really get you into the holiday spirit!! We actually prefer the cooler weather.....we feel like we have more energy to do and see more when it isn't terrible hot and humid.
