I can't sleep - so I wrote this poem about Phantom of the Opera... let me know what you think or if it sounds ok.

She heard a voice at night
She had heard for too long
Caressing in her dreams
Through his loving song

Secretly he hid
His face was never shown
One late night he took her
To sweet music's throne

That was enough to do it
She went without a fight
He sang to her and revealed to her
The music of the night

Her feelings for him were strange
Though he gave her all she wanted
The rest feared him like a ghost
In the opera house he haunted

An old love came in to play
And the Phantom became furious
Her lover did not believe,
But his mind was somewhat curious

Who was this man, this phantom
Who tauned his lovers mind?
When would she be rid of him?
All would be told in time

A proposal was in order,
A secret engagment was to be
The Phantom would not have it
He proclaimed, "You belong to me!"

On the stage was his last chance
To put her back under his spell
Although, a trap was set
To put this demon back in hell

She sang on stage, to lure him
What would happen is what she feared
When appeared on stage,
Not the actor, but who? In his voice she could hear.

The words they sang were loving
Their passion play had begun
The lover watched in shock
And the phantom's battle was almost won

In the end, it all went wrong
There was only one last thing to do
Down with the chandelier!
And lead her to his life of doom

Her lover followed them below
To win, to free his dame
The further he got, the more he understood
His life, this feat would claim.

At death he stood, and watched his love
Almost fall to the Phantom's fate
She had to choose, and she did fear
That her decision would prove too late.

Loving both, and fearing one
She knew she must save both
She kissed the phantom, not once, but twice
And filled his life with hope.

In his eyes, she saw the hurt,
He knew he could not keep her
He let them go, and hid away
Never to pursue her

But in the end, her heart stood true
She gave him one last sign,
The ring she placed down in his hand
Knowing part of her would love him til she died.

And yes, in death, it became true,
Her lover even saw it,
The phantom's music box he bought for her
And on her grave it did sit

But, alas, he looked and saw
A rose, a ring, he knew from who
The man that she both feared and loved,
The phantom, who kept his love for her true
