Ok, here's the scenario. Dh and I will be arriving for our honeymoon at the Poly after 11pm. My DH has already asked me what we are going to do about eating. I told him about Captain Cooks but he didn't sound to thrilled. Does anyone know how filling the "food" is down there? I also mentioned going over to PI but I don't know if they have anywhere to eat that late. Anyone know about that? Does anyone else have any other suggestions or know of a restaraunt open later than normal? My DH is really grumpy when he's hungry and it's not exactly how I want to start my honeymoon.

The grill closes at Capt Cooks at 11PM

Diamond Head Hot Dog $4.99; with cheese $5.39 with chili $6.19
Polynesian Style Chicken Sandwich $6.69 grilled and served with a special sauce
Halva Style Pork Sandwich $6.99 - fall off the bone tender Pork with secret sauce
Crispy Chicken Strips $6.49 all white meat in a seasoned batter

The Captain's Menehune Pizza with cheese $5.29 with pepperoni $5.59

I am not sure about room service, I believe it stops at 10PM. They might have a late-nite room service w/ limited selection.

Even the Tambu Lounge stops serving food a 10PM.

If you have a car, stop at Goodings (a 24 hour grocery store) at the Crossroads shopping plaza. They have a great deli, salads, pizza, subs, etc.

The Polynesian room service ends at midnight according to my "Island Palm Press" from last month. I thought it was still 24 hour but I guess not?? At any rate we find room service to be prompt and very good...they make a great cheeseburger.:D

I know we have eaten late at House of Blues in DD/West Side. I think some of the other bar/restaurants may be open late as well. We almost always go to HoB on our first night; we like to eat late.

You may check and see if the Contemporary is still serving in the Fun Center... That used to be 24 hours, and they have a regular grill there. I would bet by that time on your honeymoon night a snack will be okay, followed by a nice breakfast on your first morning. You could also pack a personal size cooler as a carry on, or pack non-perishable snacks in your bag. I would also guess on check in you could order room service right away, they can probably help you there too.

If you are for sure you are going to make it to your room before room service ends...I would do that. It would be great to just settle in, have something to eat and relax after traveling.

If you are running close...ask the person at the front desk when you are checking in to quickly give you your room number and dial room service for you...so it is there when you get there.

Good luck and congrats!

I suggest you go off-property to Crossroads (a short walk from Hotel Plaza Drive). There is a Pizzaria Uno's and a TGIFridays. Friday's tends to get crowded at the bar area after 11pm when the CM's get off work. But either will have a nice selection of food and drinks and serve much later that Disney.
