Hi everyone, first post, long time lurker. I have a trip planned for the second week of December, and I have a very late flight (owing to a college final that morning) so I won't be arriving in WDW until around 11 p.m. I was just wondering if this means I get last choice of the rooms, or if I will have a certain room already set aside for me no matter what time I arrive. If this does mean I get last choice, is this necessarily a bad thing? And if so, is there anything I can do about it? Thanks a lot :goodvibes

:welcome: to the DIS!!!

It does not necessarily mean you will have the last of the last. Especially since you are staying at the All Stars. Believe it or not 11pm is still early for All Star arrivals. If you were staying at the Wilderness Lodge I would say that is late, they would probably only have about 2 or 3 left to arrive, but 11pm at the All Stars, Pop, Coronado, at that time on average they still have quite a few left sometimes even upwards of 20 or 30. It also depends on what time of year it is and how full the hotel is. If they have a lot of rooms available it really doesn't matter what time you arrive... so there are a lot of variables to your question.

As far as a room being assigned, that too depends... Most of the time by 11pm all rooms are assigned, but they could have been assigned at 10:30pm or 3 days prior to arrival, again that depends on how full the hotel is and some other room assignment logistics...

I would make sure that it is noted on the reservation that you will be arriving around 11pm and have any requests that you might have noted on the rservation as well. They will do their best to accomodate, but nothing is guaranteed. If for some reason the room you get is not what you want, let them know you would like to room change the following day. They will look at the check outs for the next day and set aside a room for you. They will ask you to vacate the room you are in by 11am (check out time) have your luggage stored with bell services and they will have the new room ready for you by 3pm (check in time)...it is not the most ideal situation, but if you find yourself in that it really is not a big deal, just don't unpack that night, get luggage services to come for your luggage when you are ready to hit the parks, enjoy the day and when you come back the room will be waiting... in this scenario, they block the room off for you, so you don't have to rush back to make sure you get it, it is set up for you...

Have fun... in my opinion no room is a bad room when you are at Disney World!
