Late Jan. more expensive than late Nov?

I just received two quotes for a 2 BR deluxe at Bonnet Creek from the same place. The first quote for 7 nights beginning on Thanksgiving 11/22 was for grand total $625 (if/when it becomes available-not available now). The second quote was for 7 nights beginning 1/19 was for $839.

I was surprised...I thought the prices would be very similar. Is January a more expensive time to go? Will other things like plane tickets also be more expensive around January 19th?

I figured it was past the holidays, and the TGM chart rates that time low for crowds. Southwest only has ticket availablity thru 11/2 so far, so I won't know for quite some time what the prices will be like.

Is the end of January a nice time to go? We have only gone once before and it was with arrival on Thanksgiving.

I love late January for crowds. Very low. Higher on the weekend. Especially MLK weekend. But the weather can be iffy. Many a Jan we've had to wear pants and winter coats. I even have pictures of us wearing gloves and hats. Not sure why the prices were higher at Bonnet Creek. Perhaps it is a bait and switch type thing? You said that the week isn't available in Nov. but the price would've been this.. then the week in Jan is available so the price is that. I don't know. Why tell you a price if it isn't available? Then that isn't a guarantee that it will be that price if it becomes available either.

I'm not sure on the airfare. I would assume that it would be lower in Jan. Or at least with some flexibility you would be able to find better rates. Air travel at Thanksgiving is the peak for the year. They have no need to discount it then. Good luck.
